Wayo POV
I want to steal him from the world, take him back to the house and keep him for me alone, it's all I could think all night. Spend every moment with him, near him, and not care about anything outside. Needing only each other, wanting only each other, at least until an equal time as that we spent apart has passed.
My first night without him in the two weeks since we came back and my mind is only filled with him. He spent every night with me, but an emergency case required one of the attending doctors to be on call. My Beloved agreed to stay, the way he asked I couldn't refuse him but now I miss him.
Nate is waiting as I walk up the front steps, I can tell I won't be happy with what she has to say. Whoever crosses me should be prepared, today is not a good day to anger me.
"Dr. Prunsaait decided to intrude on your board meeting." Nate falls into step with me as I enter the building.
That man was getting bothersome, he didn't do his own work but now questioning my decisions. He disliked me taking the seat he converted but he sees me as a privileged spoiled heir who wouldn't be able to handle the position.
I have a few more life time's experiences then he, but people always judged by appearances. I started this place with a goal in mind, I wouldn't let greed and stupidity destroy it. Heart Memorial was one of the best hospitals in the country, I would make sure it stayed that way.
I can hear his voice the moment I step off the elevator, loud and self-assured. What would an outsider know, or care about the hospital? How can they allow this illustrious institution to be ruined on the whims of a boy? The board needed to take a stand, how could they stay silent?
"For anyone still in doubt, I'm a Panichjayasawad, we didn't start this illustrious institution to ruin it." I answer walking in. "Doctors dedicated to saving lives and the Panichjayasawad name made it what it is, and the board of trustees doesn't make mistakes about who they send."
"I was just..." Dr. Prunsaait looks surprised.
"Leaving." I inform the man, indicating the door. "I'm short on time and I have a lot to discuss."
His opens and closes his mouth, face turning red as the whispers start. He looks around the room, expecting some support but the room stays silent, he gives me a threatening look before leaving, Nate closes the door before taking a seat beside me.
"Ladies and gentlemen." I draw the attention of the people in the room. "Let's begin."
Two hours later, I exchange pleasantries with the department heads as they stop to commend my efforts for the hospital, offering support for the development project I want to implement. A few had questions, but most were impressed with my plans. The hospital was on good footing, they didn't need to know anything else. Yet.
Beam was right, I needed to find out where the money was going, there were quite a few discrepancies. Connections being misused to take on doctors, medical equipment being replaced with inferior made machines but paying full price. State-of-the-art medical equipment delivered from abroad, which never arrived and the company didn't exist. This was only the tip of the problem, and it didn't cover the rest of what was missing. I fired five people this morning, Ming replaced the finance manager, he was very good at finding secrets people liked to hide.
We leave the meeting room, I can't concentrate on any work if this carries on. Telling myself he is fine and seeing it with my own eyes are different things and I miss him. A small detour wouldn't hurt. Nate presses the button for his floor before I can, chuckling.
