CH 19 - Intention

Pring POV

"My contract doesn't end for another month."

They can't do this to me, they can't. I should have been made permanent but the new head of human resources informed me I had to finish up by the end of next week.

"I'll sue them."

"I wouldn't, it will end badly for you not them." He tells me quickly. "You were rejected by the hiring committee, but your father got you in with connections on a temporary contract. They have proof. You also failed on your assessments with the quarterly checks they do on new doctors for the first year."

"They are a lie, everyone adores me." I snap.

"They have statements from staff members, complaints from patients and even other doctors."

"Who?"

"They don't disclose names at this stage."

This can't be happening, I was going to be a couple with Pha I can't leave!

"There must be something you can do."

"Nothing, they are being more than fair. Take the offer and find another hospital." He says standing.

I watch the stupid mam leave I must talk to Pha. His father had connections with people on the board maybe he could do something. But Pha was hardly talking, why was he so busy?

And a strange thing happened the few times I did manage to see him. I left thinking I had something important to do but when I got to my office there was nothing. What was I thinking? Nothing was more important than Pha.

He was having dinner with uncle tonight, I overheard Beam talking, I'll go wait at his apartment. It's time we got this relationship started and on a stable footing. We can sit and solve this together like a couple. Yes, that's what I'll do.

Beam POV

I glare at Monty as he slurps his tea, this is that midgets' fault! If it hadn't been for my sense of justice to try and save him, I wouldn't be in this position. I made an effort to leave early to join Pha and Kit, seeing how worried he was but I wanted to avoid anyone I knew, mainly Forth so I went out the side entrance.

I had every reason to avoid that guy after...the incident! I was still traumatised and not sleeping well from that night.

I hid in the ally when I saw him, Forth waiting, I thought he was stalking me but he was talking to Monty. He was waving at him to get into his car but Monty kept shaking his head. Forth crossed his arms, Monty tried to make a run for it but Forth literally picked him up and threw him in the back seat before driving off.

Off course I followed, what do you people take me for? I was shocked to see them come to this exclusive venue. I found a way in and looked around through the windows only to find them meeting Yo, Ming and Yo's secretary and some others.

Naturally, I eavesdropped! Anyone would have done the same and my stethoscope is actually a good instrument to use against the glass to listen in. What I heard was not good, I hope Pha and Kit get here fast, I don't want cement boots and go for a long swim!

I watch Yo calmly sitting in front of me, sipping his tea with grace and elegance, no noise, just delicate movements. He hasn't said a word, just smiled when Forth carried me into the room. No one could be that good at drinking tea, he was definitely an alien!
