CH 63 - Why

Monty POV

"Why do you keep sending for me if you're never going to help."

I'm grabbed from the back and held, if it was any other time, I would be squealing but right now I'm angry. After what happened I came to see Park, he knew what was going on and I wanted to help. I came before but he only said bits and pieces but we needed to know now.

"If you hurt Yo or my friends." I say softly. "I won't come again."

"Wasn't I one of them?" He asks. "Your friends?"

I thought of him as more, even though I knew he was using me to get information about Yo. It was harmless, I never told him anything that would hurt my friend. Vampires always played games and they could hurt.

"Then help me." I ask. "What the hell is going on?"

"It's a trap, for Wayo's father." He answers.

"Why?"

"He has something they want, something he hid a long time ago and they will use any method to get it." Park tells me. "He loves his sons more than anything, controlling them they could make him do what they wanted."

"What did they do to doc Phana?"

"It's a serum."

"What...does it do?"

"They wanted to try it on Yo but I refused." He tells me loosening his grip. "But they want to test it, it's to make the drinker obedient."

"Doc Pha still wouldn't..."

"He would if he was in danger and hurt. His vampire instincts would kick in to survive but his mind would remember nothing." Park answers. "They made it for vampires, it's like a drug. It makes you forget everything, even, your beloved."

"No way..."

"I was there Monty." Park sighs. "I saw him do it but it doesn't last long. I was meant to be a witness for them in the halls, it was part of their plan. They never told me until the last minute, using me to try and get to Yo. I heard my father talking to someone, it has something to do with a hunter secret."

Oh this wasn't good, I had to get back and tell P'Lee and Nami.

"That girl, Pring." Park takes my hand before I can leave. "Careful of her."

"Why? What can she do to us?"

"You don't know how determined she was to get him and she has help." Park tells me seriously. "Unfortunately, she may not be human anymore."

Phana POV

I open my eyes when I can't stop the scene playing out in my head, I did tell Yo I heard a scream and I saw her but I didn't remember anything else. Did I do anything to betray Yo? The answer was a firm no. I may be an idiot in the past and even now, but no matter when, once Yo was mine, there was no one else. In my heart, my soul or in my bed.

I move closer to Yo watching him sleep, everything was starting to fall into place, why did this have to happen now? I lightly kiss his nose not wanting to wake him, my pretty Nong Yo, I love you. I'm going to tell you every day so you never forget.

I get up and head for the bathroom, his father would come to check on Yo soon, I had to be ready.

"Why are you wearing a suit?" Yo asks rubbing his eyes as he sits up. "We have the day off."
