CH 37 - Taken

A/N: Hi all. I nearly had a panic attack, they changed the layout I couldn't find the option to add a chapter...I nearly sent out a message on profile telling you the world was ending, then I saw the word Write. Panic averted, onto the chapter :D

Forth POV

"Grab him Forth."

I look down in time to see a little chubby rodent crawl past me with great speed, he squeals when I lift him up by his shirt, grinning from ear to ear.

"Bas, I will ground you until you turn 50!" Lam stops to catch his breath now his son is safe, who just giggles.

When Lam tries to take him, he hugs me instead. I try to pull him away but he has a death grip on my tee, this kid really knows no fear. I look at him, but he just looks back unafraid, I have no idea how to deal with him. Lam was the same, the others at the site stayed away scared of me but Lam would sit and have lunch while telling me about his life.

I usually push people away, it became a habit, I don't know why I let him sit and keep talking. His wife is worse, when she found out I moved Lam away from the power unit she hugged me and cried. When did humans stop fearing me?

"Thanks, Forth." Lam looks at me. "Bee left him with me while she went to do some shopping."

I give him my, I don't care look, but he carries on.

"Why leave a crawling baby with me? I have crutches dude."

"Tell her."

"I want to stay married." Lam tries taking his son again.

"Why marry someone you're afraid of?"

"A little fear of your wife is a good thing Forth..." He nods. "I learnt that from my father. My parents are still happily married, although I wish my mother didn't learn about Facebook. She shares everything, I mean everything, even flowers growing on cracked pavement, my hand hurts from liking all the pictures..."

I tune out Lam when I hear familiar voices close by.

"He did what? Why didn't you or P'Kit stop him?"

"Did you want me to tie him to a chair?" Beam whispered.

"Yes!" Nami replied.

"We told him to ignore her, but you know Pha is..."

"Stupid!"

"Yes...but he felt bad, we were good friends in university... Kit wants to tell Ming."

"Don't tell him!" Nami interrupts.

"I told him not to..."

"I'm going to tell P'Yo...and I better call P'Sing..."

"Wait...what? you're going to tattle on Pha?"

"OMG P'Beam!" Nami said annoyed. "This is...serious."

I manage to get Bas to let go and hand him to his protesting father, I head for the pair.

"Shit Forth..."

"What's going on Beam?"

"It's not what you think...he's an idiot..."

"P'Pha went to see someone..." Nami tells me. "He should have been back but he isn't and we can't reach him at all."
