Kit POV
The mood around the table is dark, Ming looks angry, did he get contacts? I really need to talk to him about that.
"First I've heard of...a fiancé."
"Now you have, concede defeat." She tells him. "Kit is mine."
"I don't take advice from...toddlers." Ming says looking her up and down.
"I'm mother approved material... old man." She glares right back.
I facepalm again, honestly, this girl.
"I never let go of what's mine and he's mine now." Ming answers.
"Kit, they are competing for your affections." Beam's whispers leaning over.
"Prepared to fight for him?" She smirks.
"Anytime."
My heart misses a beat hearing him, a happy feeling bubbling in my chest. When she tries to move near me Ming blocks her, holding my hand. I need to stop the idiots, they look ready to spill blood.
"Nami..." I get her attention before she speaks again. "I don't remember an engagement."
"It happened the last time I was here." She smiles asking a passing waitress to bring her a chair. "I'm totally loveable, aunty would approve of me."
"Nami..." I sigh, she never changed.
"What? It was all arranged." She says sitting. "Beam said if I was good, I could marry you and I was good all summer."
He did what? You bastard! I kick Beam.
"Shit Kitty." He yelps bending to rub his leg. "It was a damn good deal, she behaved..."
I count to ten before I turn to her and take the glass she was going to drink from. Nami is Pha's cousin but Beam and I both thought of her as a little sister too. She was the cute little cousin that liked to follow us around, her father and brothers were always busy she got left with us often.
"You're underage."
"I'm nearly sixteen Kit..."
"Not for another few months..."
"2 is not a few..." She stops when I glare. "It can be considered...a few..."
"When did you get here?" I ask before adding. "It's P'Kit; you're back in Thailand now."
"Yes P'Kit." She giggles. "Not long, I missed you guys."
"This is our cousin, Nami." I tell Ming. "She's more a little sister..."
"Legally we can get married." She adds quickly. "Technically I'm P'Pha's cousin so ..."
She stops when I glare.
"I need to have a word with Phana about his...odd family."
Ming...really...and now Nami is glaring at him again.
"How come no one gave us a warning she was coming?" Beam asks me quietly. "I would have run for the hills."
We would have known if she was coming, Uncle always told us in advance so this meant she wasn't staying with him. Did she some with one of her brothers?
"Who did you come with?" I ask. "Where are you staying?"
"At Pha... I mean P'Pha's apartment."
"You... I took your key!" I say shocked, I made her give it to me before she left last time.
