Forth POV

"Why did you go to see Her?"

This was new, Ming couldn't keep secrets from us but why had he kept quiet about this?

"Because Yo did and I wanted to know if I could help."

"When?"

"The last time we came here, about 10 years ago." He sits. "You didn't see him Forth, the way he was acting, I knew something was going on."

Ming could always tell even if a hair was out of place on Wayo's head, it must have been something if it worried him enough to go see Her.

"Did She tell you about this guy? Pha?"

I was curious again, I stopped halfway down the stairs ready to leave when he had whispered Wayo's name. His voice, so loving as he reassured the boy, if I hadn't heard it myself, I never would have believed it.

"No, she said something was coming, Yo finding his heart was the beginning." He tells me. "His faith in love, will test the mantle of many. Her words."

It may have been the way Ming said it, but I felt a strange unease. I had never gone to see the witch, I had no reason. Someone who could see your past and maybe tell you something of things to come, I didn't like surprises but I wasn't ready to know my future either.

"How are we doing this?" I ask.

"I sent the information about them to your phone."

I glare at him as I pull mine out, I pushed buttons and frown when nothing happens.

"Forth..."

"What?"

"It helps if you turn it on." He looks amused.

"Then it should stop beeping when I do." I snap.

What the hell was wrong with the ones on the wall? After more tries and nothing happening, I toss the thing at Ming who catches it laughing. It takes him a second to make the damn thing work and show me. I might need to learn how to use this thing, but no way was I asking him.

"Let's go out." Ming stands and stretches. "I want a drink."

"Ming..."

"You need to get out Forth." He has the, do as you are told look. "You haven't left this room for days."

"I was busy learning things, it's been a while." I tell him. "I was checking up on the problem Wayo is here for too."

"I understand why his father sent Yo." Ming looks at me. "You think someone knows?"

"We will see." I reply. "I might need to step into my owner role, it could be useful."

"The idea has merit; we need to be ready when Yo gets here."

He always knew what to say to make me move and helping Wayo isn't something I would ever refuse. I was worried already with what he had done, I would stand by and do anything I could to help him, he was my brother.

I watch the changed city as we walk out of the hotel, my best attempts to ignore Ming failing as he tells me things I should know. I see the cars speed by, humans always did seem to be in a hurry, they made everything faster.

"Did you keep that bike?" Ming asks as one goes past.

"It's in storage." I remember. "Probably too slow for the modern world."
