CH 40 - Gossip

Beam POV

I drink my coffee as Kit looks at his phone for the millionth time, blushes and puts it away, ignoring it. He carries on talking to Pha about the case they are working on, a young girl, Simi with what appears to be early signs of heart disease. The symptoms are there but the results are negative.

"Just answer him." Pha sighs. "He's annoying."

Kit glares at the screen as he types and hits send, he doesn't even get a chance to move it away when it chimes with a text, well vampire are fast. Kit's face glows red, I could cook on it. I wonder...

"Whys Ming being so obsessed?" I ask. "He, finally do you?"

Kit drops his phone.

"Omg!" I laugh. "You finally lost your V card?"

"Shut it bastard." Kit snaps. "What V card, I was in ..."

"Two, we know." I laugh. "But this is you...being done so..."

"You lost yours before me." He snaps. "Forth's definitely done you."

"True." I tell him. "But I could do him if I wanted."

Pha and Kit look at me then burst out laughing, you bastards call yourselves my friends? I could do him if I wanted! I could!

"Seriously kit, whys he so worried about you?"

Pha asks when the phone chimes again, damn he saw the message, bloody vampire eyes.

"Why are you ignoring him anyway?" I sip my coffee, blessed caffeine. "Did you do something embarrassing?"

He drops his phone but Pha catches it, so he did! Yaay, something fun I bet, well fun for me. Pha and I ask, but Kit refuses to spill. I kick his leg but he still refuses, he kicks my leg, I push him to the sofa and he blushes more. WTH? I pick up my cup and head for the door annoyed.

"Why it such a big secret?" I snap, not knowing made me cranky. "It's not like you fell asleep on him."

Silence. Crickets silence. Kit hides behind the sofa cushions, Pha shakes his head, I double over with laughter. The coffee going up my nose but I don't care, its too funny. He fell asleep, how bad was Ming?

I can't help chuckling as I head to my office, he fell asleep! Kit kicked me out without more details but I will find a way. I open the door, no Forth...how dare he not be in my office when he was at the hospital! I knew he was, I had a Forth radar now...that and Lam telling me he came to see him.

I push the button for the lift, did hot nights not matter anymore? What was the world coming too? what?

My foot hovers over the threshold but I stop when I hear a voice, is that Forth? He's talking to someone on the stairs? I walk to the door a few meters away and open it, it is Forth.

"Let's keep it as we agreed."

Agreed what?

"Two hours a night." The chirpy voice answers. "My services are not cheap."

The voice was Nami...what services?

"I wired the money into your account." Forth tells her.

Money...

"My university fund, thanks you." Nami says happily.

Forth was paying Nami for her services...he would feel pain; I need to get my syringe...

"Beam ... I know you're there."

"You bastard!" I yell going down to them. "How dare you..."
