October arrived. Rose got struck with the flu, but luckily Madame Pomfrey handled it instantly. Raindrops the size of bullets thundered on the castle windows for days on end; the lake rose, the flower beds turned into muddy streams, and Hagrid's pumpkins swelled to the size of garden sheds.

Rose mostly spent the days when it was raining in the library, doing her homework or reading. Every once in a while Fred and George would appear out of the blue. Asking for a specific book, when Rose asked them about it, they told her that, they are looking for ways to hide from the Slytherin team when they are spying on them, Wood's orders. Rose gladly helped them out, since she knew the library like the back of her hand.

"A deathday party?" Rose questions Harry as he joined them in the common room telling about Sir Nicholas' request.  "That doesn't sound very fun. Hanging out the whole night with a bunch of ghosts? I'm sorry Harry, I think I'll sit this one out." Rose says to Harry.

Halloween arrived and Rose made her way to the Great Hall, while Ron, Harry and Hermione went to the deathday party. Rose sat with Fred, George and their friend Lee Jordan. As they ate, they told Ron all the pranks they did.

She laughed so loud, that Snape, glanced her way with a small smile on his face, as she reminded him of Lily. Rose looked between Fred and George. "So what are you guys going to do after school?" Rose asked them, the glanced at one another, deciding if they could trust her. Nodding at one another they turned to her.

"We are going to open a joke shop." Fred maybe George said to her. "But don't tell mum." They said together and Rose smiled nodding at them. "That would suit you guys," Rose says to them.

Rose walked into a hallway with Fred and George on either side of her, on their way towards the common rooms. They stopped in their tracks when they saw Ron, Harry and Hermione standing in front of Filch's cat that was hanging from a wall where there was something written in blood.

THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS HAS BEEN OPENED. ENEMIES OF THE HEIR, BEWARE.

As Rose read the word, it felt as if her blood ran cold through her body. That meant something bad, really bad. "Enemies of the Heir, Beware! You'll be next, Mudbloods!" The voice of Draco Malfoy echoed through the hall. He grinned at the cat hanging on the wall.

'What's going on here? What's going on?" The voice of Argus Filch came as he made his way through the crowd. He then saw Mrs Norris.

"My cat! My cat! What's happened to Mrs Norris?" He shrieked as his eyes fell on Harry. "You! You've murdered my cat!  You've killed her! I'll kill you." He walked towards Harry who walked backwards shaking his head.

"Argus!" Dumbledore's voice travelled over the students, who instantly made way for him to pass through them. "Come with me, Argus. You, too Mr Potter, Mr Weasley, Miss Granger." Dumbledore said and shooed the others off to go to their dorms.

In the common room, rose waited for Hermione, Ron and Harry to come back. After about twenty minutes of waiting they entered and they explained everything to her, from Harry hearing the voice, them finding the cat. Dumbledore telling everyone that the cat has been petrified. They are luckily proven innocent because since no evidence to prove them guilty.

For a few days, all anyone talked about was the attack on Mrs Norris. Filch kept pacing the spot where she was attacked since he thought that the attacker might come back.

The attack had an effect on Hermione. It was usual for Hermione to spend a lot of time reading, but she was now doing almost nothing else. Nor could Harry, Ron or Rose get any response from her when they asked what she was up to, and not until the following Wednesday did they find out.
