She opened her mouth to speak but no words came, she took a moment to collect her thoughts. Did she? She doesn't remember much of it. She could hear the two figures whispering to each other, the dark one and the fox. They're wondering if she does remember.
" I think..." She said, a bit unsure. " I don't quite remember. Hmm..." She thought for a moment. She remembers seeing lights flashing, then she just left. " I'm pretty sure I've done it, at least once or twice but I don't feel like talking about it at the moment. Let's just say when it happened, it wasn't on good terms." She was silent now, her mind wondered as she thought of that day. The bandits were going to kill her, hurt her and she wasn't going to stand for it. Someone there was kind enough to help her during those times.
" Hey," Ruby caught her before she tripped. " Careful." She said as she helped her up. " Why not take them off? We've already seen it so we don't mind. Right guys?" They agreed. Some with a little reluctance. Still, Veena shook her head as she refused.
" I told you to stop doing that-" She paused as it wasn't the figure that removed her binds but it was the ever so sweet Ruby. " A stubborn one aren't you?" Ruby giggled her apology as Veena shook her head with a smile on her face. This girl is definitely worth protecting. " You sure you're all fine with this?" She asked as a large dragon-like spirit flew past them and roared. " I mean, there's a lot of creepy things I see. Why do you think I binded my eyes most of the time? " Another large spirit walked over them.
" Uh...fair enough." Ruby returned her binds and the spirits were invisible again once she put them on. They walked until they arrived at a small village right around night fall. " We should stop here for the night. Uncle Qrow, do you know any inns nearby where we can stay?"
" Sure, kiddo. There's one that I know around here, I think." Qrow led the way as they walked. " Okay, I'm starting to think we should get you a walking cane." He said as he stopped Veena from running into a pole. " You seem distracted." She kept silent.
" The inn. I'll tell you there," She said as she brushed his hand away. After registering a few rooms, they met up at the inn's diner to talk about it. " You see, when I- first used magic I-....I killed someone."
" Veena.." Ruby gave her a pat on the back for comfort. This was going to be another long day.
" So I was about to be dragged out and- sexually harrassed, one of them, who took care of me and promised to get me back, he tried to stop them. But they refused, I just wished they'd all die. They were nothing but liars and thieves, then my semblance kicked in and I sort of panicked. Then I-" She struggled to keep going, choking on her own words. " I killed him, I killed Vince..." The words still rang in her ears as she said said so. " I killed...the only person whose been honest with me...."
" I'm sorry to hear that." Was all Blake could say. Veena excused herself from the table and told them she was going to her room. Then, she bumped into someone along the way.
" Watch where your going you useless piece of shit." Qrow was about to go and help her, they all were. " What the-" In seconds, he was on the ground as Veena stood over him with a glare as she lifted her binds a little. " Let me go-"
" Disgusting." Was all she said in a tone that she's never used before. " Filthy. Unjust. But Minor," She let him go and headed straight for her room. " Remind me not to lose my cool." She said to the figure, who recognised this behaviour well. A key had been opened and a past life's memory unlocked. It wondered when she'll start calling it by the names it was given by the previous lives. Better yet, she would give it one herself.
" Of course, Yasa." It said, mentioning the name of the past life. She won't be sulking or napping with this personality, not at all. She'd be sketching, weapons most likely, just as the blacksmith himself had done on rough days that displeased him. Meanwhile, the others had to apologise on her behalf.
Ruby and Yang were her roommates for the day and was surprised to find her sketching. She was calm and focused on her designs, it looked as though she wouldn't stop until she was satisfied with her work. The two figures would watch her as she worked even when the two sisters had entered the room. The fox lady cane to greet then with a smile.
" I wouldn't bother her right now, a key opened up so this is one of her past lives. The blacksmith, Yasa, if I'm not mistaken. Oh, I haven't introduced myself, I'm Zea." She introduced herself with a smile. " And I've been following Aris and his past lives ever since my death."
