Chapter 18

" Hang on, you dusty old crow." She said as her gaze did not leave the enemy. Tyrian glared menacingly at the girl, but she was unfazed. " Back off, now. And we might let you live another day." She said simply.

" A little girl against all four of us? You're the one who's asking for a death wish, kid." Mercury spat as he didn't even bother to take position. " You're little parlour trick ain't gonna save you this time- Hey, Are you even listening?!" Her eyes were closed, a calm look on her face like she was listening to music. She nodded in response and looked at them with a genuine smile.

" Also, I'm already crazy so, yeah, I've been seeing things for a while now. Then how about one of you fights me? If I win, I get to whoop your asses. If you win, you get to kill me and Qrow. How about it?" She seemed quite serious about this and failed to keep her smile. Tyrian stepped forward with an eager smile.

" Ohoho, I'm looking forward to this~" He laughed as they began circling each other.

" Really?" His face fell as orbs danced on the palm of her hand. She created a shield over Qrow, sealing him off from the fight.  The orbs began orbiting around her waist as she still failed to smile. " Kage." She pulled out her sword as a black scarf formed razor sharp teeth. " So have we. " She lunged forward with a smile.

It was a wonder how she was able to keep up with him, blocking and dodging his attacks. He decided to go all out and charged at her in a frenzy. He rolled over as he attempted to recover from the blast she produced. Then, Mercury tried to step in, she dodged and caught his other leg.

" Regen," The scarf gone, now she wore black gauntlets. He couldn't move and tried to break free, he fell onto the snow with a heavy thud. He stayed there for a moment awestruck, staring at the broken mechanics of his leg. She tilted her head a bit as she returned her gaze to the madman. " Kage," She whistled and the sea dragon came crashing down on Tyrian, moving quickly to try and coil him. He fired a few rounds which only angered the grimm. " Hey," Her voice surprised him as a knife flew past his neck. She stood on its head and it didn't mind, didn't even bother to get her off.

He backed off slowly as she came down, petting the sea dragon's head as she did so. Now this, was worth beeing afraid of. A young girl with a large grimm by her side, acting like her pet. They all thought only Salem could control grimm, they thought wrong. She gestured for him to attack, centuries of experience does you a whole lot of good. She gave him a few kicks before deciding enough was enough, she pulled out her sword and kept at him. The sea dragon kept the others out as the sheild stood firm. Unlike Ozpin, she'd only given a touch of magic to a ghost. Zea was doing her best to tend to Qrow's wounds. She'd never seen Veena like this, not even Aris with some memories gained. It was clear despite her calm expression she was angry. He froze as she sunk her teeth into his throat, his blades only pierced her hands as she blocked them.

" Emerald," Mercury tapped her shoulder. " We have to go." Tyrian was dead at her feet, his body was still twitching as she left him for her sea dragon. The others fled, Emerald looked back and their eyes met. Her violet eyes were cold as she glared at her red ones.

" Kage," It returned to its dark form as it followed her to the man bleeding in the snow. She was exhausted, to say the least. " How is he?"

" We're losing him...He's lost a lot of blood, I've managed to stop the bleeding." Pyx gave her a look, she definitely didn't want him to die. " Veena?" The girl knelt down next to him, sat herself down cross-legged.

" I'm running out," She said in a whisper. " Bayang." It reluctantly formed a flute as she mustered all her aura to play a song. Her eyes felt heavy but she wasn't done. Zea placed a hand on her shoulder and smiled.

" Take mine," To share her aura would only lead to the spirit growing weaker. Zea opened her mouth and sang, the melody of her voice mixing with the flute's. The sound of a longing song filled the air. Qrow opened his eyes, his vision blurred but he could hear them clearly. It was soft and peaceful, putting him back to sleep. As the song ended, Veena's head spun as Zea gave her a weak smile. She wrapped her bleeding hands and took off her cloak. She wrapped Qrow with it and wrapped her scarf around her neck. She whistled at the sea dragon and gestured up ahead.

" Protect the humans that you see, even if they shoot you. I'll be there." The sea dragon gave her a sad nod as it obeyed. With a grunt she lifted Qrow with one arm and slung him over her back with the other. " Hang on, Qrow. We'll get there. Zea, tell them how we are."
