Old Soul ( RWBY Fanfic with my OC)

Chapter 15

" Among your mistakes, was calling me a child." Veena said with little emotion as she took another bite of Tyrian's severed tail. " Another was not knowing what I am." She glared at them softly, to show slight warning. She knows who she is now, most of it. She dropped the severed tail as Kage licked its lips. Through their eyes it was Veena that ate the tail. " Lastly, not knowing whom you've left." She let her semblance run lose as she took advantage of their confusion.

" Brother, stop it!" Hazel froze at the ghostly figure before him. Several spirits stood infront of Veena, some were baring their teeth as a warning. She turned and ran as the spirits distracted them before they find out that the spirits couldn't touch them. She was almost there, she could already taste the sea breeze as she neared the clearing. Emerald tried to use her semblance to misdirect her, but to her surprise it's as though she could see right through them.

Veena slowed down a little as she reached the edge of a cliff. She could see Ruby and her friends on the airship, she smiled as she saw Ruby. Ruby gasped as her mother became visible again and with her was Zea. Ruby smiled wide as she saw her friend, the others were relieved that she was alright. But, it was short lived.  She heard them coming and went onto the very edge of the cliff. Ruby's face fell as she saw first Tyrian running like a maniac towards the violet eyed girl. She glanced at Ruby before making her jump.

" Veena!" Ruby screamed. They watched in horror as the girl fell headfirst into the water, a sea dragon was moving to where she fell. Weiss was the first to fire at the enemy then the rest followed, creating craters on the cliff. They stopped as the distance grew. Ruby put down her weapon slowly as she watched the cliff get smaller and smaller. Tears that she hasn't shed in a long time started to fall. " Guys...Can you please tell me...that we're all going to be alright..." She said softly.

" Oh, Ruby..." Yang pulled her into a hug as Qrow knelt next to her and held her close. Zea could only watch as sorrow once again had taken over. Ruby's friends came to comfort her as she watched the waves. Zea wished she could do more, she wished so hard she could speak to them.

The water was cold, she'd expected that. What she didn't expect was finding a young sea dragons watching her very closely. She was inches from their snout, she saw something else within these monsters. A beauty within them, yes. They may seem frightening but to be on the brink of death this close to them, gives a different view to her. How lovely. They neared her slowly, almost curious unlike their usual destructive appearance. She didn't know why but she smiled at them. Ever curious, they got closer until their eyes met. She mustered the strength to touch its snout. Heck, she was going to die anyway, why not do something crazy? So she did, she kissed it on the snout before closing her eyes.

However, Kage was still acting as a scarf with a mouth at the time and that did something. The dragon's red eyes blinked slowly as violet pupils formed. Watching the girl, the sea dragon moved quickly but carefully and brought her to the surface on its snout. She coughed and vomitted the sea water from her lungs as she sucked in the air.

" ...K..Kage..." It stood above her now, wearing a worried expression as its master almost died again. " ...Bayang.." It looked at her as her eyes focused on the airship that looked so small from afar. " Please, they need to know I'm alright...There's too much sorrow..." It did as it was told and formed itself into a flute. With trembling hands she placed her lips onto the instrument and began to play. She must be crazy to be able to do this.

" Can you all hear that?" Zea said, then she chided herself that they can't hear her. But surprisingly, they were staring at her. She looked at herself and thought for a moment. " Shh, listen.." She said, ignoring their surprised looks as not even Summer was visible at the time. It was faint but they could hear it. The sound of a flute playing.

" She's alive..." Oscar said softly as the entire group listened. Her song was telling a story, they could feel it. Ruby smiled gently as the soft melody soothed their nerves, even as it faded. Zea no longer became visible as she felt calmer by the second, it seems her friend had learnt a little magic to give her.
