" Miss Ashen," Ozpin addressed her. " I believe we haven't had the pleasure of speaking properly. I am Professor Ozpin, previous headmaster of Beacon Academy. I suppose Miss Cloud has told you the rest." Zea nodded and smiled as they walked around the garden. " Regarding the events, I'm sure you were informed of last year's...mishaps."
" I'm well aware Ozpin. Don't worry, everything has been taken care of. The Sparrow will be watching over us after all." Ozpin hummed to himself. " But it doesn't hurt to be cautious. Just be sure that no one gets hurt badly. We have...friends to help guard the school grounds." She caught the eyes of five birds, pacific swallows, glancing at her, feeling them smile she returned the smile. " We have a lot of friends."
Liam held her hand to lead the way, she likes to bind them after all. It felt comforting to her to have a guide so she doesn't stumble into anything, she wouldn't want to use up her energy just suppressing her semblance. Which was done more often now because she was constantly surrounded by people unlike the isolation that the old Brunswick Farm gave her. It surprised her to find Apathy on their way to Argus, then Ruby's silver eyes saved the day again. How interesting that such things existed. She reviewed what she would've done, she couldn't get close enough to turn it so it was the only thing she must truly kill. To feel nothing, that was terrifying. Pyx wouldn't be able to help her either.
She heard them, she could tell that they were being followed. Not by thieves or criminals, Vacuo being Vacuo (even if it is the main city, anything can happen. Maybe a little rare on occasions like the festival but still.), they were being followed by something more sinister. As to avoid a commotion they took a turn into an alley and headed straight down into a narrow path. This was also a shortcut for some cases to get to her favourite fabric store for supplies. Liam stopped as did she. Two people, a girl with green hair and red eyes and a boy with steel grey hair were in their way. Liam was a step ahead of Veena, looking cool and calm regarding the situation.
" Is there a problem?" Liam asked them, but they didn't answer. " My friend and I need to get to the store. We don't have anything to give you, give us a break, the girl's blind."
" That's a lie." Emerald said looking at him in the eye.
" Sorry but we're gonna need her to come with us." Mercury said cocking his head.
" Hand over the girl and you're free to go. We're here to take Veena Cloud home to her parents." Liam glared at the man that came up from behind them with his dark blue eyes. " We know you decided not to teturn to your parents after escaping those bandits. It's time to go home, Veena."
" We're not idiots." His left wing lifted and hovered over her. " You're not taking her anywhere."
" You know pal, we really don't wanna have to kill you." Mercury said, taking a step forward. Liam scoffed and tilted his head with a mocking smile.
" God damn, you're annoying." He chuckled. Veena put a hand on his shoulder but said nothing. " You're voice is nice but the way you talk, is really obnoxious."
" There's no need for a fight or for anyone to die." Hazel began. " Veena, our leader wishes to see you. This boy will not be harmed if you willingly come with us. I don't want to have to use force." Mercury crossed his arms as Liam kept quiet and continued to glare. His hovered over her in a protective way.
" You're a good man." She said suddenly with her head turning to Hazel. " Yet you foolishly allow yourself to hold such a grudge. But I understand how you feel." She smiled at him and Emerald felt off, she made an illusion that Mercury had multiplied and completely sealed off their escape. Liam took a step back, arm raised in frot of her to keep her out of reach, which he forgets was unnecessary. He flinched a little as she binded his eyes. " Looks can be deceiving, don't think I don't know what you're semblance is, my dear. She looked at Emerald with those cold violet eyes and smiled. " I always see the truth. You're surrounded, I suggest you leave before I make you. I'm not looking forward to kill anyone today."
" Yeah, right. You and what army?" Mercury taunted but quickly faltered. He felt a chill up his spine, they all did and they looked around to see who was watching them. Hazel wasn't fazed at first, until he took notice of the large flock sitting on the perches and roofs above them. The ominous look in their eyes were as if they were watching them. He became slightly alarmed and took a step back. " What?" He asked the older man, noticing the alarmed look.
" I only have one question for you before you leave." She said smiling at first, then she frowned. " Who killed my Blue Jay, Pendleton?"
