Chapter 47

" Woah..." Ruby awed. " Did you see that? Look at those weapons!" She's never seen fan blades before, and those gloves were just amazing. She got up and scrambled out of her seat. " I'm gonna go see them!" She headed to the one of the nearest entrances where they were coincidentally walking through to get back to their seats. " Veena!" She jumped straight into her.

" Ruby!" She greeted her happily. " It's been too long, my dear. I have gifts for you. All of you." They decided to go eat together as another team faces off with team NDGO. As they sat and ordered their food, Weiss offered to pay.

" Are you sure, Weiss? You know what happened last time..." Yang teased.

" Oh, please." Weiss said as she was about to hand her card. " I've already made amends with my father-" A hand pushed down her card. It wasn't the shopkeeper's, his dark blue eyes looked down at her and glanced at Veena. " You...You're-"

" I'll pay for it." He said in an even tone, moving over to a seat across the violet eyed girl who binded her eyes. She heard his voice, she tried to find the words. He stared at her, trying to see past her binds, a solemn look on his face. " Vee. Do you know who I am?" He asked, sounding quite unsure. Vee smiled and turned to him, she lifted her binds slightly and they could that her eyes seem to sparkle.

" Hello, Kyga." She smiled gently. He was surprised at first, but suddenly turned angry. An ominous aura was crawling behind her and she felt a chill run down her spine. She covered her eyes again and turned her head slowly. " H-Hi, sisters....Please don't kill me."

" We thought you were dead." The eldest sister, Jan, said to her with an eerie smile.

" Why the binds? You're not actually blind, are you?" She was quiet for a moment as her second older sister questioned her. She shook her head softly as Harley's violet eyes soften. " What happened?"

" It's a long story." A younger girl wearing a cat-eared hoodie hit her shoulder. " Ow. Avi?"

" I had nightmares. You were somewhere dark...then you were alone, then...you're not you." There was silence as the food arrived. Avi was more cryptic than usual. " I had a dream that...monsters were coming out of your eyes, they wouldn't stop and you couldn't control it. I had that same dream for three nights in a row, in one of them, if you didn't cover your eyes, anyone around you would have monsters coming out too." She stared at her binds with her deep blue eyes.

" It's my semblance. It's difficult to control, I'd be wasting energy trying to supress it. I can see things others can't, among them is the true form of things. Rather difficult for me to explain. The binds is so that no one else can see them. I chose to be alone for a while for a reason. I'm sorry, I should've come home sooner but I was afraid, you wouldn't understand." Removed her binds and looked at her four siblings in the eyes. Her violet eyes sparkled like their mother did, they all can do that. It meant they were happy. She was gradually happy to see them. Then the spirits start to show, which startled them at first and made them even more worried as a dark figure hung closely to their sister. " Don't mind it." She told them as she sipped her tea. " I guess Ozpin's not the only one who keeps secrets now."

Oscar held his own against his opponent. He was only using a cane, which caused his opponent to look down on him. But as he was taught, that can be used as an advantage. He knew to conserve his energy as he played with his enemy, causing the fellow to be disqualified by aura depletion. Team JNOR was clear for the doubles. Now came a very unexpected announcement.

" Ladies and gentlemen, what a great match! Now, we move on to the bonus round." Some of the crowd started to mummer as the randomizer started to turn. " Here's how it works, folks! Two temporary teams will be formed at random, all the team members will be from different teams. After selecting, the teams will undergo a battle on the name of 'Last man standing'. The winner from the impromptu team will be qualified for the finals even if their original team had lost in the doubles. So the first team will be..." The pictures stopped first on teams SSSN, VLOR, RWBY and ABRN. " Team SVYR (Sapphire), consisting of Sun Wukong of team SSSN, Veena Cloud of team VLOR, Yang Xiao Long of team RWBY and Rheese Chloris of team ABRN. The second team shall be known as..." The pictures stopped at teams BRNZ, ZLVR (Silver), CFVY and JNOR. " Team BZYL (Basil), consisting of Brawnz Ni of team BRNZ, Zack Oxton of team ZLVR, Yatsuhashi Dashi of team CFVY and Lie Ren of team JNOR. We'll take a short brake and get back to you in 10 minutes.
