Chapter 54

" We've just discovered that a few companies have been giving off information regarding our Sparrow to the enemy. The companies listed are Bloom Tech Industries, Applegreen Security Company and....Harley's Eve." Zea looked at Veena, who seemed unfazed by this information. She gestured her to keep going, she hesitated and continued. " Harley has relayed information regarding the Sparrow's semblance through the two said companies, in return she gets an amount of interest-Just, Veena." Zea puts down her papers as Veena responded by looking at her in the eye. " Aren't you going to say anything?"

" Nope." She said simply, seeming very calm and cool about the situation. " Anything else, before I take over?" Zack looked at her in disbelief, as did Heather and Zea. " What?"

" You can't be serious." Zack said speaking first. " Seriously? You're not going to say anything about how your own sister, is with Salem?!" Everyone else who didn't know looked at her with surprise. " She's literally giving intel on you and do you plan to do anything about that?"

" Nope." She replied in the same tone as she always did. " I know my sister, everything's fine." She said before Zack could say anything more.

" That's what I thought too, until Raven betrayed us on the Battle of Haven." Qrow said crossing his arms. " I'm saying this cause I can. You can't just sit here and do nothing while your own blood betrays you." Ruby stepped forward and looked at Veena carefully.

" Veena, I need to know. Are you really just going to let her do what she wants?" Veena stared at her for a moment, Ruby prayed that she wouldn't let them down. The elder soul smiled gently at her at pulled out her scroll.

" Watts is currently in a city about two hundred miles away, looking through various complicated files that are getting him nowhere. Emerald and Mercury are with him as Hazel is in the city, reading through the layout of the arena." She said reading the long text sent by a mysterious number. " Stay safe, little sister." She gave them a look and smiled after reading the text. " If there's one thing about my sister, is that she likes money and knows how to use it. She's not shallow and always plays it safe. Be careful with how you use your tongue." They were quiet as she kept smiling, a few sighs and breaths of relief could be heard.

" Don't you have everything settled?" Ozpin said with a smile.

" Not entirely." Veena replied with a chuckle. " Though I was mildly offended, the looks on your faces were a bit amusing. Now then, I've received a...prediction. Don't be alarmed when I tell you this but I have a feeling that a war is coming at hand. " She let that sink in for a moment before continuing. " It's a bit cryptic but I hope you'll remember it. As the sun sets, the final leaf of autumn falls. Monsters will lay awake, with souls they will take. An emissary trapped in a river of melody. Silver shines through the dark, bright as gold, blinding as white, eternal as black. That's all she told me."

" Whom?" Weiss asked her.

" My beloved sibling with weird dreams. More often than not, her dreams have cryptic messages that come through."

" Your sister? The one 'betraying' us?" Blake said.

" What, no. Harley barely gives a shit. My younger sister, I have six siblings. Aswad as the eldest." The heron was still in Atlas, being the informat there. " Well, it's getting late. Let's wrap this up and go to bed."

" But we got questions." Nora whined.

" Blame Zea, I have to keep up with my new sleeping schedule or she'll kill me. Children need sleep. I, am still in the body of a child. Don't forget that Ozpin." She said as she yawned and headed for the door. " I'm getting too old for this."

The body fell off the dock with a splash, adding to the bodies that were already inside. Cinder took her time to reach the captain of the boat, who had ordered his remaining crew to stay below deck as he faced the witch on his own. She edged to him slowly, adding effect to her general demeanour.

" What do you want?" He asked, trying to sound brave as his hands were shaking. He tried to control it, he needed to protect his crew. " Just what the hell do you want?" She was inches from him now, staring him down with her amber eye.

" Nothing." She said with a sinister smile. " I just need a lift. All the way to Vacuo..." She was mindful of any birds watching but was not aware of a blue jay watching from afar. The night mist hid him well, his body would've been shot if it didn't. He was careful of course, not to make a sound with his steel talons. He needs to warn the Sparrow. The fall maiden was coming for the rose. But he knew that the Sparrow would be waiting.
