" And who might you be? The ever fabled violet-eyed girl, I assume." Cinder said with a sinister smile. " Didn't we ask you to come alone?"

" Do you think I'm stupid?" Veena looked at her in the eye and smiled. " You barely know me at all. Yet, you have the gal to actually summon me here." She took a step forward and kept her hand on her sword. " Go with the others, Little Rose. I'll handle this." CInder gave an amused laugh and regarded the young girl very little. Ruby trusted her instincts and left with Qrow following behind.

" You said 'unfinished business', were you that upset that we kidnapped your teammate?" Cinder mused as her amber eye glowed.

" It's not just Liam, you shot members of my flock, burned the vessels that I made for them and finally-" Cinder rolled her eye and fired a fireball, smoke replaced where Veena stood and the Fall Maiden smirked at her simple victory, or so it seemed. " You killed my Blue Jay!" She charged from the smoke with her violet eyes revealing every spirit that came with her, every spirit that had no vessel. She acted quick and summoned her dual blades, the impact from their blades clashing caused her to be pushed back a little. She wasn't easy pickings as the Fall Maiden thought.

A shot snagged Ruby's shoulder as she was focused on the grimm. Emerald aim her gun with anger lit in her eyes. Ruby rolled over and held her scythe steady, the sound of guns firing and blades clashing in the distant were heard. Ruby noticed something familiar in those red, angry eyes. She knows those eyes well, she's had them herself when her mother had passed. Emerald wanted to protect Cinder because she loved her, not as a henchman but-. But Ruby didn't have time to sympathize with her as she fired several rounds.

" Why can't you just stay out of this and leave us alone!" Emerald shouted.

" Why couldn't you leave us alone? We wouldn't be in this if you haven't attacked Beacon!" She replied as she pushed her back. Emerald gave a frustrated cry just as Veena and Cinder crashed near them. Dust and smoke clouded their vision as they stopped to see what happened. Mercury saw the crash and split from Yang and Blake the moment he could. They went after him as Arthur silently tried to escape.

" Cinder-"

" Stay back!" She managed to cry out before the Sparrow held her sword closer to her throat. Emerald froze at the sight of those cold violet eyes. Any warmth she had in those eyes were no longer visible, she was full of blood lust and the blood that she spilled didn't seem to satisfy her hunger. Cinder was stuck in a kneeling position as the Sparrow sat calmly behind her. A black gauntlet against the right side of her face and holding her head gently but eerily. Her grimm arm was gone and blood was starting to pool next to her. She was breathing heavily, fear radiated through her eye as her free arm held onto the Sparrow's. " L-Let me go-"

" Shh," The Sparrow leaned in with her gentle smile. " I'm thinking," She said barely above a whisper. She felt the Sparrow's gaze shift to the red-eyed girl. She prayed that it wasn't as she thought. " Eye for an eye, right?"

" Wait!" The Sparrow stopped from rising. " Not her, please. A-And not the boy, either!" She said as she spotted Mercury. " Please, not them. I'm begging you..."

" I don't remember you sparing my Blue Jay or the little one. Neither Miss Nikos or Vernal, not even the very people you stole from." She hissed. " You have a lot of blood on your hands, Fall Maiden."

" Please, just- not them.." Cinder pleaded, the very smell of death was frightening her as the Sparrow tilted her head and looked into her eye and back at Emerald and Mercury, who could do nothing but watch. It was silent, Ruby couldn't take it anymore. She called the Sparrow and as those cold violet eyes laid on her, she shook her head slowly, hoping Veena would consider mercy. The grip on her hair softened a little but she knew the Sparrow still wanted blood. Something caught the Sparrow's eye and she hurled her sword. " No!" Cinder tried to stop her, afraid she aimed to kill one of them but she didn't. Watts cried out as the sword dug through his leg.

" I've made my choice." Veena lifted the amber eyed girl's face by the chin, so that their eyes met. She didn't know how but her breathing slowed down, her eye was transfixed on the violet ones before her. She was starting to pass out as the blood lose was taking effect. " Emerald Sustrai," The girl flinched as her name was called. " I have a proposition for you."
