Weiss was still a bit anxious, she was with Veena as her brother had left to presume his duties but he promises to visit every now and then. Both are runaways that don't want to go home, lovely isn't it? They can relate that's for sure.

" Weiss," She turned to see her awake and staring at the ceiling. " My brother..."

" He was here, he had to go back to work." Veena looked at her with a blank expression. " Ruby left you some cookies," She glanced at the plate and took one. " How are you feeling?"

" Enlightened." She straightened herself and smiled at her. " You don't have to understand that. I think I'm over it."

" Over what?" Weiss asked. She almost sighed when she started talking in a cryptic way.

" The fact that I killed a human being. Evil is evil, but the fact remains that he still had a soul. A soul that I...consumed...or rather Pyx did." She seemed confused about it herself as she listened to her own words. She let her semblance flow and Weiss yelped as a spirit lept off her shoulder onto the bed. " Sorry, forgot to warn you. Weiss?" She had her mouth open as she stared at the ghosts walking in the corner of the room. " Hey, calm down. I found them while I was travelling through an old mine or two." The sorrow and fear in their eyes were all too clear, but when they saw Weiss they were either afraid or angry at her.

" Schnee..." Some of them said in growling tones. They still sounded human at least.

" Calm down, all of you. She's not like her father, not at all." They went back to wandering about the room. " They lost their family and homes, lost of purpose with unfulfilled promises. They had no place to go, so I took them along. Like Summer, they fractions or fragments of what's left of their souls. They were...lost." Some of them gave Veena a sad smile or greeted her good morning. Weiss felt an ache in her heart as she saw one or two children among the adults and elderly. Some were clearly miners, but some were even recognisable as huntsmen. " Strong emotions can turn into a curse wrecked upon themselves, forcing them to stay. Vengeance, betrayal, loyalty....love." She trailed off with the list of feelings.

" And, what about these spirits?" She said gesturing to strange little wolf-like being on the bed. Veena was surprised that she wanted to know more. " It's just--you told me a lot lately and I hope you don't mind, alright, I find it interesting.." She muttered.

" Not everyone had the same view, it's fine." She wondered what that meant. " Spirits are their own beings, they're especially old. Well, some of them. It's still unclear how they're born but they do play a role in this world. Unlike other creatures, they can live with just their aura, or rather, to simply put it they're energy. They can effect you emotionally and mentally with their aura. But as you can see, I believe the soul fragments may also be considered as spirits but under different categories. Like Summer, she's always there for Ruby, reminding her to look at the brighter side of things. That's about it so far." She finished.

" Good to know," Weiss told her. " I guess it's only fair that I tell you something. You see, my father is coming in a few days to look for me. If he catches me here, I'm doomed." She whined. Veena let a small laugh escape her lips as she looked into the girl's blue eyes. Then she was quiet, with a face thay was deep in thought. " What?"

" I think, I'd like to be alone for a bit. Just for a while, I'll join you guys soon." Weiss raised a brow and gave her a look.

" You sure?" They wouldn't want another breakdown. She nodded with a gentle smile that said ' I'll be fine.' ." Alright, we'll be in the library if you need us."

" Thank you," She said as Weiss closed the door. She took in a deep breath and let out a long sigh. She felt quite lost herself, things were looking bleak.

When was the last time she prayed to the gods? She guessed Salem might be hanging around the pool of darkness, so she can't pray there. She wondered if the pool of light was still alright, it has to be. She still knows where it is. Where does she go from here? The group was just as confused. Salem must be longing her death, it's the only explaination for why she wanted to collect the relics. Both sides were being stupid, in her view. One, a sad old man. The other, a broken woman who has given up on humanity. Both would love to die. To leave all this behind.

" I don't think Salem fully understands her immortality. If all of humanity dies permanently, wouldn't she still be around? Poor thing. She'd be in even more hell than ever." Veena laughed to herself. This war, was absolutely ridiculous.
