Chapter 19

Zea went ahead as she was asked, all the while building up her aura. It wasn't too far from the group, who was fortunately occupied by grimm.

Ruby was about to turn and swing her scythe when the most phenomenonal thing happened. A sea dragon had come to her aid. It stood there, seperating her and the other grimm. Its roar pierced the sky as it threatened its own kind. An Alpha beowolf decided to challenge it as the other beowolves followed. Everyone present was amazed, the sea dragon coiled them and growled at the other grimm as to claim them.

" Ruby!" The hooded girl was surprised to find Zea with them. " Quick follow me, your uncle needs help. Yang, you too."

" What the flip is going on? Why the heck is there a sea dragon all the way out here?" Yang said ready to fire at it.

" Don't worry about. We have to go, now. Wait- Jaune, we're going to need you." They understood well enough what she meant, Qrow was hurt.

It was cold but she couldn't care less. They needed to move. She could feel the cold air weighing down on her. She needed to do something. She focused and produced a small flame, it wasn't much but it helped give a little warmth. There's two girls who need this man in their lives, he has to live to guard them. She didn't want her Littke Rose to cry anymore, to not see the sorrow in the girl's eyes. Qrow made a few grunts and the occasional coughs that came up. She stopped the bleeding entirely but the wounds inside, that's another story. She saw three figures ahead, she was still bleeding a little. Her vision slightly blurred but she can guess who was coming. She waved weakly as she smiled. She felt so very heavy. Thud. She collapsed on the snow right there, right then.

" Uncle Qrow!" Ruby was the first to arrive on the scene. She gasped as another familliar face came to view. " Veena!" She called just as the girl collapsed. Rushing to their side, seperating Qrow and Veena before he suffocates her in the snow. " She's freezing." Ruby took off her cloak and wrapped it around her, which stirred her to stay conscious.

" Hmm? Ruby?" Ruby cheered as she opened her eyes. " Cold, h-hold on." She said as she shivered, she produced another flame, slightly larger than the last one. " That's better." Ruby stared at it, the flames reminding her of...Cinder and everything she's done to them. " How's Qrow?" She managed to ask.

" He'll be alright," Jaune said as he used his semblance. Something red caught his eye. " Your hands...hang on, as soon as I'm done with Qrow I'll get to you." Qrow made a few grunts and gasps as he stirred.

" W-What happened? Where- Tyrian," He said in alarm and cried out as he failed to get up. " They were here, get back to-" He paused as he saw Veena, his breathing slowing down as he tries to remember when she got here. " You....You,"

" He won't bother us anymore, I made sure of that. The others ran off when they knew he was dead." The look in her eye was so calm, killing another human being takes more than just guts. She wasn't the same girl they met only a few days before. " Thanks to all of you, I got most of my memories back. Including a little magic." She smiled proudly as she presented the orbs. " The others?"

" Uh, not too far from here." Yang answered. " Where are you going? Your hands are still injured."

" Magic dulls the pain. I can see them, I'm off to help." She replied as she kept walking. " Regen," Black gauntlets formed and she pulled out her sword.

" Hey, I'm coming too. Yang, you and Jaune can take it from here, right?" Ruby asked them before leaving. " Okay, let's go." Ariving on the scene on time was one thing, fighting was another. Ruby held her ground, it was easier to fight grimm with an Atlisian specialist on your side. " It's crazy," She shouted over to Veena. " Then there's this sea dragon that came out of nowhere, but its fighting for us I think."

" Oh, that's mine." Veena said. " Kage," She whistled and the dragon crashed on the grimm in front of her and greeted her with a low growl. " Hey, buddy."

" You can control grimm?!?!" Ruby could scream but then a single thought made her face fell. Salem could control grimm, they both can. What can this mean? " Where did you learn that?"

" A past life, I am the god of darkness' champion." She reminded her. " I will never work for Salem." She pointed at Winter who was busy with a few grimm. She summoned an ursa to help her out. " Go help her." The sea dragon did as he was told. She spotted an Alpha beowolf from afar and a smile grew on her lips.
