Never A Bride

She walked down the aisle..

She walked down the aisle with perfect harmony..

Her posture of the utmost higher class as she belonged to he..

Her smile a brighter beauty,

The rice was put to shame..

The day we say "I Do" was a horrid day..

A plan was foiled,

An arm was twisted,

And fake smiles were worn.

Though expected of the groom not to smile,

It could not be helped,

how dim he felt, upon seeing our poor bride.

Her eyes' lost sparkle,

Though her dress shined pretty.

She was wilting,

Though she beheld a fresh bouquet.

The guilt was eating her,

Though it had no stomach.

The look of innocence upon empty eyes that would encourage her only for a time

Would haunt her for the rest of her life.

'I did this.'

She thought.

'I screwed up.'

Though it was too late now.

Looking back at the pictures from that day,

she knew what she had done.

"I ensured a future I never meant to seal."

Growing up, people look for fairytales in the world. Innocence shining in our eyes. Love pouring out of our hearts. Nothing but good memories..

But then we grow up..

In an ideal world, the man who pines for love gets the girl. She forgives whatever dirty thing he's done and he never messes up again, but this time..

This time..

I am fine with being my own hero.
