Today in college, my research group met up with our mentor and she asked us if we'd be willing to showcase our research paper to an external panel.
We've said yes but now we gotta work extra hard for it to be completed on time. The date of presentation is 2 months from now so hopefully we get things done.
BigHit came out with a new grouppppp!
In the last couple of months of 2018, there were rumours and then an official confirmation that BigHit is planning to debut a new boy group as a successor to BTS.
I think it's about time they come out with one. BigHit started out as a realllllllly small company with only 2-3 artists/groups with them. Their girl group GLAM got into in a very bad controversy causing the company to disband the group. Not just that, they also banned girl groups from Big Hit, transferring their female trainees to other companies. As for the males, almost all the groups did not renew their contract with BigHit once the original ones got over. As of 2018, BTS and Lee Hyun are the only two artists that the company is managing. Even though BTS has been a HUGE success and has gotten a lot of fame, money, respect for BigHit, if you look at it from the company's POV, they need to have more artists under them to function in the long run. As difficult as it is to say this, BTS is not going to last forever and now that the members (especially Jin) are approaching military time, they need someone to manage so that they sustain in the industry.
Anyways, yesterday BigHit tweeted a link to a website where there were two interwoven circles with the words "you" on one circle and "I" on the other. There was also a 24 hour countdown along with it. ARMY immediately said that this was for the new boy group and this information was confirmed today!
It's the official pre-debut launch of BigHit's new group/ BTS' brother group, TXT!
The full name is 'Tomorrow X Together' with the tagline "You and I, Different but Same". I don't know if this tagline is for their debut album or TXT as a group.
Along with the group name + symbol, their first member was revealed today! He is a 1998 year born guy named Yeonjun and he is apparently the oldest among the group. Boy we're really getting a fourth generation group.
So the intro video for Yeonjun was so unexpected! It was.... cute. BTS have never really really had a cute concept (as a whole) before so I was surprised that BigHit could take that route for a boy group. Also, I'm not going to lie, Yeonjun looks really good.
At the end of the video, there was a Morse code that translated to the word 'Dreaming' so I'm guessing that's the name of either theit debut song or debut album. We'll have to wait and watch.
The next member will be revealed after 3 days according to the countdown on the website. We got a long wait before us bois.
I just want to say this for my own satisfaction. I am fully aware of the (obvious) fact that BTS and TXT are two different groups with different concepts and there is no need to compare them to one another. There will be innocent instances where I do but in no way will I demean TXT for the sake of BTS. I will never try to have (one sided) conversations about "which BigHit group is better". That's a promise.
