Needless to say, on the day of the funeral, Thea did manage to pull herself out of bed and head over to the Burrow for the breakfast that Molly had prepared. However, no one really felt like eating much so Molly was forced to wrap it all up and save it for another day. Molly had assumed that not many people would be up to eating but similar to what she had done when her family was all at the battle, she had cooked a meal for the twins and Elliot, it kept her distracted from the pain she was currently feeling.
Thea's brain felt so numb she couldn't even feel herself worrying about seeing Fred and George again. But Elliot was there, helping her through it all. She never dealt with death well and with more of it happening every day, Thea didn't know how she would cope.
The group that had gathered at the Burrow then proceeded to apparate to Hogsmeade where they then traveled to the castle grounds where the funeral for Dumbledore would take place. The place was very crowded when they arrived, wizards, witches and creatures from all over the world had traveled great distances for the funeral to pay their respects to one of the greatest wizards of all time. From what Thea had heard Hogsmeade couldn't even hold any more people in their hotels, it was filled to the brim.
The turnout of people was crazy, people and creatures of every shape, size, and color had turned out for the event wearing their very best attire.
Even the merfolk of the Black Lake had surfaced and if Thea was in a better mood she would have been shaking with excitement but that wasn't the case this time.
Hundreds of golden chairs were set out in front of where Dumbledore would be placed to rest. Thea headed over to one of the rows of chairs and sat down as Elliot sat down beside her, clearly concerned with how quiet his friend was being.
Thea found her eyes flickering around as she watched everyone arrive. Thea spotted Tonks' bright bubble gum pink as she watched as Tonks arrived hand in hand with Remus, both of them smiling slightly at each other despite the occasion.
Molly Weasley was escorting Bill along with Fleur and Arthur on the other side as Bill was still in recovery from his attacks. The group took a seat near the middle of the rows so Bill didn't have to move very far but they could still see the sight of gravesite clearly.
As much as she didn't want it to, Thea's eyes did eventually find the twins sitting a little way down from her, both dressed in black dragon hide suits.
The funeral soon began and it started off with the merfolk playing a bizarre but still somber tune. Thea could already feel tears heading down her face as she watched Hagrid carry Dumbledore's body in his hands. Dumbledore's body was draped in a material of purple velvet which was decorated with golden stars. But Thea wasn't the only one already crying, several witches and wizards around her were already crying as well as Hagrid as he walked along between the aisles of seats. Eventually, Hagrid made his way to the front where he gently sat Dumbledore's body down onto the table as a small wizard stepped forward and began to preside over the ceremony.
By that point barely anyone at the funeral could keep themselves composed, tears ran down the faces of everyone there, causing many people to become unfocused on the ceremony and many people tried to comfort their family members.
Once the man presiding over the ceremony finished speaking white flames shot up and surrounded Dumbledore's body until it was impossible to make out the shape of his body. The table that he lay on rose up as the smoke from the flames became forms of assorted shapes. The smoke eventually cleared and the flames disappeared, revealing to all those who were watching that the table that Dumbledore was resting upon had become his tomb.
However, the somber moment came to a crashing halt as centaurs sent arrows into the air out of respect causing many of the attendees to panic although no arrows had come even close to them.
The ceremony soon finished after that as Thea wandered around with Elliot by her side, saying hello to anyone she knew and introducing herself to anyone she didn't know.
Eventually, they made their way over to where Remus and Tonks stood.
"Hey, Thea." Tonks smiled brightly. "How are you?"
"I've been better."
"That's understandable." Tonks replied. "I don't think anyone here today will ever forget the impact he had on all our lives. That's why so many people came here today to pay their respects, the man was a well respected member of the Wizarding World and will never be forgotten."
