Everyone froze not entirely sure what to do. Thea, however, being extremely excited immediately began jumping up and down in excitement.
"Oh, my god! Yay!"
However, Thea soon composed herself before ordering the men of the household around.
"Okay, Remus get Tonks upstairs and comfortable, I don't know how long the birth is going to take. Elliot find towels and anything you can and get that up to Tonks as well. Kingsley can you please go get Andromeda, she should be here for the birth as well as notify Molly."
All the men still seemed to be quite shocked about the news but Thea soon startled them all back to reality. "What are you all waiting for! Get going!"
Tonks' screams echoed through the household. Remus was pacing across the room, fretting as usual while Elliot's eyes followed Remus across the room, an amused look on his face.
Kingsley had eventually returned with Andromeda who was a great comfort to her daughter throughout the labor. That and squeezing Thea's hand as tightly as she could.
Tonks' squeezed Thea's hand suddenly as another wave of contractions made her body shake. Thea didn't know where the sudden strength had come from within Tonks as the sudden strength nearly crippled Thea's hand and nearly brought Thea herself to the ground. But luckily the contraction soon passed as Thea slowly regained feeling back in her hand and as it tingled, Thea squeezed Tonks' hand back but not as tightly.
"You've got this, Tonks." Thea cried encouragingly.
"She's right, Tonks. I've never seen someone go through labor this quickly."
As it turned out Andromeda was correct with her saying that Tonks was going through the labor like a trooper.
Thea stayed by Tonks' side, offering her hand to squeeze trying to remain calm throughout the entire thing. It did seem a little strange that it was Thea that was trying to remain calm but Thea wouldn't be lying if she admitted that pregnancies and births did scare her quite a bit even though she did think they were miraculous, wonderful things, they still scared her.
Thea was snapped out of her thoughts as Tonks let out an ear-piercing cry as she squeezed Thea's hand double as hard. Tonks' face was dripping in sweat and let out a few sighs as she tried to get her breathing back to normal.
Andromeda was coming back around to stand at her daughter's side to help her through the last little bit as another loud cry that didn't belong to Tonks sounded startling everyone in the room.
Andromeda quickly headed to the end of the bed but she was bet by Remus who reached the end of the bed quicker than her. He stared at the small child for a few moments in shock before he picked the child up as a small smile broke out across his face.
"It's a boy!"
Tonks and Remus were delighted by their small child who they had named 'Edward Remus Lupin' after two very special men in Tonks' life. When learning of the name the two of them had chosen, Andromeda nearly started to cry, the loss of her husband, Ted Tonks still weighed heavily on her mind and she couldn't hold back her happiness.
Tonks had also assumed that her son would be affectionally referred to as 'Teddy' similar to how her late father was referred to as 'Ted' instead of 'Edward.'
While Tonks, Andromeda, and Remus gushed over the newborn, Thea settled into a chair next to Elliot's, watching the newborn, her new godson fondly.
"You were so calm throughout it," Elliot remarked. "I know how you get Thea. You hate births, they scare you. But you managed extremely well."
"Oh, you didn't see me then," Thea said.
"See you doing what?"
"Freaking out!" Thea exclaimed. "But no, I did manage, although I think all the bones in my hand might be permanently rearranged now though. I have no clue where that sudden strength from within Tonks came from."
Eventually, Thea had gone back to Tonks' side, eagerly awaiting her chance to hold the newborn.
Teddy was currently settled contently in Tonks' arms while Tonks smiled down at him.
"Congratulations, Tonks. He is beautiful." Thea remarked.
"Thank you for helping me throughout the birth."
"It was no problem. But after experiencing it now I think I'm less afraid of the whole thing now."
"Yeah, I remember a time when births and pregnancy used to scare me as well, although I was a lot younger than you are now."
"Yeah. Well, I just never got to experience it before, like I said I didn't grow up with many babies in my household or in my family."
"Would you like to hold him, Thea?" Tonks asked.
"Oh, I would love to," Thea said quickly, rising from her chair to receive the newborn from Tonks' arms.
Holding the newborn tightly, Thea sat back down in her seat, looking down and admiring the infant as he settled himself back into another pair of arms. His cheeks were ruddy and flushed red as most newborn baby's cheeks were. As Teddy was sleeping his fist was slightly resting within his mouth causing to Thea to coo at the infant.
"Hi there, Teddy. I'm Thea, your godmother and I've been so excited to meet you from the second your parents told me they were expecting you and here you are now. Welcome to the world, although I warn you it can get a little crazy around here especially if you call your mother, Nymphadora, so maybe don't do that. I highly doubt that she would get angry at you but you can never be sure with Nymphadora Tonks."
