#2 - Reunion

I approached Shayne anxiously, biting my nails furiously. Finally, I took a seat next to him. He didn't seem to notice. I cleared my throat a little and tapped his shoulder gently. He looked up and when he saw me the colour drained from his skin, and what looked like guilt and regret washed over his face. Shayne was a good actor though, and so he quickly disguised this and put on his joyful facade.

"Courtney!? Oh my God! Fancy seeing you here!"

I laughed nervously, "Hey Shayne."

"So, how have you been?"

"Good, good," I lied.

Shayne nodded courteously, "Sweet. So, you auditioning for Smosh too?"

"Yeah, Olivia got me the audition."

"Olivia works here? Small world, huh?"

I sighed, "Yeah, small world."

"Should I bring up our past?" I thought over and over again.

"So what have you been up to?" Shayne asked.

"Still working in that pharmacy, but hopefully not for long," I answered with my fingers crossed.

Shayne smirked, "You never liked that pharmacy."

I smiled, recalling all the times I'd vent to Shayne about my former boss, and he'd always comfort me.

"How about you?" I inquired.

Shayne shook his head and chuckled, "You know, failing as an actor."

I frowned, "Failing?"

"Yeah. I was on the Disney Channel for a while, well, you probably remember, but that got cancelled, so I moved back here."

I did remember. Of course I remembered that terrible day. Shayne told me he'd be moving to New York to be on a show called 'So Random'. That was the worst moment of my life.

I wanted to just explode with emotion. I wanted to say how pissed I was at him for leaving me. How angry I was that he didn't seem to remember that we used to date, or he just chose not to remember. I wanted to confess my everlasting love for him, and how I wished we'd be together forever. I loved him so hard, but he didn't seem to feel the same way.

Reality whirred back into motion around me, and our conversation resumed.

"I think it's our turn," Shayne said.

"Our turn?"

Shayne nodded, "Yeah, did you not here the producer just now? He said you and I would be auditioning together."

I gulped, but just like Shayne, I put on a joyful facade, "Let's do this then."
