"Weeeeeee!!!!" Olivia screamed dramatically, causing Skylar to laugh uncontrollably.
I smirked at the sight of my daughter and my best friend. Olivia had always been great with kids. She'd make a fine mother herself.
My little girl shook with giggles as Olivia bounced her up and down, making silly noises and faces, and I couldn't help but laugh myself.
"You're such a little cutie! You're such a little cutie, aren't you Sky? Aren't you?" Olivia exclaimed in a babyish tone.
"She's a little daredevil, keeping mommy and daddy awake until three in the morning," I joked, laughing slightly.
Olivia grinned, "You signed up for this, Topp."
I flopped down onto the couch besides Olivia and Skylar, before sighing with a smile, "I know."
Olivia proceeded to entertain Skylar once more, but my mind strayed to Shayne. He was shooting for The Goldbergs again, much to my chagrin. I missed him, and we still saw each other everyday, but it wasn't constant anymore, and I really missed that.
Snapping out of my trance, I rose to my feet and asked Olivia if she wanted anything from the break room. She politely declined, and so I set off alone, meandering down the empty hallways, yearning for Shayne's hand in mine.
I reached the blandly decorated room, complete with vending and drinks machines, as well as a Keurig, before punching in my request for a double espresso.
However, as if I'd summoned him from my very thoughts, Shayne suddenly appeared at the threshold. He said nothing. I said nothing. Instead, he strode forward and crashed his lips into mine. The urgency was familiar. He had good news.
Our tongues met in a flame of love and lust, and my hands began to stray to parts of his body which I shouldn't be touching in public, therefore, I stopped myself and pulled away, not letting him stray further than a few inches from me.
"What are you doing here?" I asked breathlessly, resting my head on his chest.
Shayne pressed me against the wall and locked my lips onto his once more, before whispering, "Giving you my all."
