The entire day really was absolutely incredible. It wasn't even my wedding, but it was in my 'Top 10 All-Time Moments' without a doubt. Two of my best friends were married, and I couldn't describe how happy I was for them.
They danced atop the sand for hours, not caring about the state of their soaked attire. Luckily for everyone else, including myself, we had brought a change of clothes, and so after we returned from the sea, I got dressed into a more casual outfit. Shayne and Courtney didn't change as previously mentioned, but why would they? It was their wedding day, they were going to squeeze every last drop of pure bliss and joy out of the day, and they deserved to.
Sam and I danced too, enjoying the cooling temperature and darkening sky. The sun descended towards the crest-like horizon at a steady pace, before eventually merging with the point at which blue sky met blue water.
Jango jumped around beside his 'mom and dad,' with Shayne picking him up and kissing his forehead on more than one occasion. Courtney continually burst into exuberant tears, as she repeatedly screamed at the top of her lungs that she was married, causing everyone to laugh, especially Shayne.
About a 'bazillion' photos were taken of almost everyone, with Noah and Keith operating the camera most of the time, drunkenly setting the timer for about a minute so everyone would have to stand there for ages, including them. Damn idiots.
Shayne and Courtney's first slow dance together as a married couple was the cutest fucking thing I'd ever seen in my entire life. Shallow, melodic tunes sounded from the piano, and the radiant atmosphere seemed to enlighten the nearby vicinity. A mass of blonde hair buried itself into Shayne's neck, and he kept his lips locked on the top of his wife's head as they swayed back and forth. Their embrace became unbreakable, and Courtney's face gradually blackened with mascara as she balled her eyes out time and time again. Her drenched white dress seemed to merge with Shayne's glistening black tuxedo, but they didn't care. They shared the warmth of one another's bodies in compensation.
The PDA between Shayne and Courtney was, as expected, getting a little too extreme, especially with Courtney's younger siblings present at the wedding, talking amongst themselves at the back of the venue in the marquis, away from the dancing drunkards. I chatted with them in an attempt to keep their focus away from wondering where Shayne and Courtney were, as the groom in question was currently... heavily kissing... his new bride atop the cool sandy surface, hoisting her up by the waist, with her legs enveloping his midriff.
As always, Damien and Jessica found me and jokingly branded them as, "Exhibitionists."
The sun then dropped behind the horizon, disappearing from the cloudless sky. Gentle, lapping waves crested over one another with white froth as sediment was deposited onto the shoreline, and the moon began to sparkle with an effervescent hue as it steadily meandered its way upwards, ascending into the night's sky.
Songs of 'Shourtney' rejoice were audible all around for hours on end, and the dancing didn't stop either. Finally, when a lot of people had gone home, leaving Shayne and Courtney's closest friends and no one else, not even the Miller family, Courtney bellowed, "After-party at our house!"
Shayne screamed his signature 'Shayne Scream,' and with that, the sober people began driving the drunkards back to No. 22, Crescent Way, with Shayne and Courtney taking a limousine they had rented, probably to have sex on the way back home. I laughed as I thought of Damien's ever-consistent catchphrase, and with that, Sam and I began driving back to the house, accompanied by Noah, Keith and Sarah in the back, all pretty drunk already.
It really was an amazing day, and I couldn't be happier for my two best friends. The Topp's.
