The next two days dragged on for what seemed like months, and whenever I got a call I prayed that it was from Ian or Anthony. Unfortunately, that call didn't come. In fact, it was Olivia who called me. The conversation went something like this:
"Hey girl, how you doing?" Olivia asked with her joyful tone.
"I'm ok. Dying to see if I got the job."
Olivia squealed with excitement, "Well, YOU DID!!!"
Pure bliss coursed through my veins. My heart fluttered and my eyes welled up with tears.
"I got it? I got the job!?" I screamed.
Olivia laughed, "Hell yeah you did. I'm so proud of you Courtney, I knew you could do it."
"Thanks Olivia."
"Of course girl. I'll see you tomorrow!"
"Wait Olivia, wait!"
"What's wrong?"
"D-Do you know if Shayne got the job?" I asked with a shaky voice.
Olivia sighed quietly, "Yeah, he got it. Is that ok?"
Tears slid down my cheeks, "Y-Yeah. I'll see you tomorrow Liv."
"See you then, and also, great job Court. You deserve this."
I smiled, "Thank you."
After that I called my parents and all my siblings, and they were all so extremely happy for me. I was obviously very happy too, but the idea of working with Shayne terrified me. I was still hopelessly in love with him, I didn't want my feelings to get in the way of my career. I just missed being with him. I missed being Shayne's girlfriend.
