Enormous, stratospheric clouds obscured anything and everything outside the window as we steadily cruised on at thirty-thousand feet. Shayne ate a ham and cheese roll whilst I picked at his chocolate brownie as well as some cookies he had bought for me, however, my appetite was far from fulfilled. Shayne offered me some more of his food, but when I informed him I was hungry for something else, he could only blush in return and reassure me of the fact that he felt the same way. I was starting to become desperate, and we were only about halfway into the journey.

Nevertheless, we soldiered on, frequently laughing at the woman beside Shayne and her attempts at flirting with him with me watching on. She consistently stood up to get something from her purse in the overhead baggage area, but really it was an excuse to put her ass on display. Shayne buried his face in my neck with embarrassment as we silently laughed together. I was a little jealous, sure, but Shayne and I were married now, meaning we were more inseparable than ever.

The two of us shared a blanket as we drifted off to sleep, and the sky blackened as we neared the conclusion of the flight. Moonlight bounced off of the aluminium wings of the plane, and Shayne closed the shutter for me as he fidgeted against my much smaller body, entrapping me in his warm embrace. I played with his hair and repeatedly kissed his forehead as he gently snored into the crook of my neck, and I found myself drifting off alongside him, holding him closer than ever, away from that flirtatious bitch to his right.

"Sir, Ma'am, we'll be descending in five minutes," a stewardess woke us.

Shayne and I mumbled in return as we sat up and put the armrest back down, dividing our embrace. Our hands remained sealed though, and Shayne shot me a playful grin as he opened the shutter, allowing us to peer out and observe the pitch black ocean and the illuminated island that was Barbados.

"It's beautiful," I murmured.

My husband simply kissed my cheek in return, and whispered in my ear, "Just like you."

Even though we were husband and wife now, Shayne still made me blush everyday, adding to the endless list of things I adored, cherished and loved about him, he truly was perfect.
