#3 - The Audition

I think the audition went well. Shayne and I did some improv scenes together, mainly comedic ones. If I was being honest, the audition had become an afterthought. All I wanted was to spend some time alone with Shayne.

Ian and Anthony, the two founders of Smosh, said they were really impressed with our performance, and we'd get a call within a couple of days to let us know whether we got the job.

Shayne and I thanked them before leaving the audition room together. I felt an uncomfortable tension rising between us. My emotions were boiling over inside of me. Sadness, joy, regret, love and hate all rushed through my body simultaneously. I wanted to ask Shayne to come and get some coffee with me, but it was one of those situations where I was begging him to say something first. Luckily, he did.

"So, how do you think it went?" Shayne asked.

"I-I don't know, to be honest. I'm not a very good actress."

Shayne frowned, "What!? How could you think that? You were amazing, Court!"

I blushed deeply, "Thanks Shayne."

He smiled warmly, "No problem."

There was silence between us. My mind ticked over with scenarios and ideas of how to ask Shayne out, but then the moment was ruined.

Shayne checked his watch and sighed deeply, "I gotta get going Court. I'll see you at work though, alright?"

My blush remained prominent, "See me at work? We don't even know if we got it yet!"

Shayne smirked, "We got it."

With a swift wink, Shayne left the office, and I was left alone. My emotions ran wild, and it felt like all of my nerves had been set alight. I didn't know what I felt for Shayne, but love was definitely in there somewhere.
