#93 - Laser-Dad

Due to the fact that Courtney was fairly opposed to being home alone with Skylar for maternity leave, Ian allowed us to bring her into the office each day. This was absolutely amazing as we had so many helpful people around us, and in fact, Lasercorn was proving to be the most useful, because he was already a father of course.

He taught me how to properly put a clean diaper on Skylar in under fifteen seconds, due to the fact that we spent ages practicing on a doll, and after that he also taught me how to correctly cradle Skylar in order to calm her down quickly. I will say, most of the 'dad stuff' was coming naturally to me, but there was so much to learn and I get overwhelmed very easily, as does Courtney, therefore, we appreciated Lasecorn's input because we truly needed all the help we could get.

One thing I was good at was getting everyone to leave when Courtney was breast-feeding. No one wanted to mess with an angry me, and certainly not an angry Courtney!

It was a beautiful sight though, witnessing my wife nourishing our child. Nature at its finest. Having a baby really is everything that everyone says it will be: terrifying, loud, stressful and utterly exhausting, but ultimately, it will always be the best thing that will ever happen to you, provided you have your child with your soulmate. For me at least, that was certainly the case.
