A decent amount of time had passed since the whole flashback incident, and to my pleasure, Shayne and I were back on great terms as always, just as things should be.

Damien had been chosen as the best man for the wedding, Kari and Olivia were my two maids of honour and my dad would be walking me down the aisle. Everything concerning the wedding was going swimmingly. Everything other than where it was actually going to take place.

Shayne and I spent countless nights staying up until the sun rose, just discussing the perfect place. We considered Santa Monica Pier, as that was such a significant location in our relationship, however, the sheer volume of tourists and whatnot would make it incredibly difficult to make the day seem like a day for us. We also pondered over going to Ojai, the location of that wonderful holiday in which Shayne met Stuart, the estate agent who found us our dream house, however, we concluded it would be inconvenient to get everyone there and back within a day without blowing our budget.

People at work kindly offered to make suggestions and do some research too, however, we made it clear that we didn't want to just get married in any old church like everyone else does. The day had to be perfect. I was getting married to the love of my life for Christ's Sake! This day would go down in the history of 'Shourtney' forever, and it would add to our picture book. Shayne still updated that nearly every week, consistently thanking me for it.

Ian had suggested that we get married in the Squad Office, with a priest present to legally perform the ceremony, and Shayne and I weren't opposed to the idea, however, yet again, I wasn't getting that spark. The instant 'yes' feeling didn't come. My friends started to tease me, calling me picky and whatnot. I knew it was all light-hearted, but that didn't stop Shayne from consoling and reassuring me to ensure I knew he would only be happy when I was. I loved him so much.

Shayne and I even discussed a venue for the wedding whilst walking Jango, but that was when I had got the 'yes feeling.'

Jango bounced along atop the hot soft sand, kicking up shells and pebbles as he ran. The sea chased him away as he veered down the sloping gradient, with gentle white waves lapping over one another. My beautiful fiancé and I could now walk our secluded dog-walking path blindfolded, enjoying the tranquility and exclusivity of our route.

The blistering sun beat down upon Shayne and I, and our matching pale complexions tanned within a matter of minutes. Sweltering heat was the cause of tiny beads of sweat trickling down my forehead, and Shayne chuckled at my fatigued expression.

"I'm so hot, Shayne!" I groaned dramatically,  over-exaggerating.

A smile danced across Shayne's lips, before he muttered in a sultry voice, "Hell yeah you are, baby."

I blushed crimson and laughed, before smacking Shayne a few times and saying, "I'm serious! I'm sweating buckets, look!"

After proceeding to lift my arms, Shayne peered at my underarms and noticed the sweat patches on the sides of my dress, as it was sleeveless. I took a quick sniff.

"Eww yuck!" I exclaimed, jokingly berating myself.

Shayne laughed at my crazy antics, before eyeing me up suggestively. I subconsciously raised my left eyebrow at his contemplative expression.

"What'ya thinking?" I asked, taking a hold of his hand once more as we continued to walk along the coastline, barefoot.

My fiancé chuckled again, "Trying to think of a way to cool you down."

Yet again, we stopped in our tracks, ignoring Jango digging a hole a few feet away. As my delicate white dress fluttered in the sea breeze, my mind ticked over in an attempt to try and decipher his thought process, but before I could speak, Shayne lifted me over his shoulders and sprinted towards the sea, holding me up with my head by his back and my feet near his waist.

"Put me down!" I screamed, pummelling his back.

Shayne only laughed as he continued running towards the deep blue ocean, and our laughs came into sync as he crashed into the water. My hair became drenched, as did Shayne's, and we wrestled in the cool liquid, tasting the salt on our lips and feeling the cold air and sand stinging our faces.

"You're so dead, Shayne!" I bellowed, tackling him into the water again.

His white T-Shirt quickly became translucent, as did my dress, but neither of us cared as our wrestling turned into kissing, with Jango swimming over to us joyously. Effervescent water sprayed onto our skin as our lips remained locked, and our laughter complimented the cloudless sky, seemingly stretching on endlessly, just like the sea itself. The horizon curved minimally, symbolising the sheer volume of water before us. When Shayne's lips separated from mine with an oceanic twang, he gazed into my eyes, smiling giddily.

All he said was, "How about here?"

I frowned slightly as I remained connected to him via the waist, with my legs around his midriff and my arms around his neck.

"What do you mean, babe?"

Shayne smirked and simply repeated himself, "How about here?"

The emphasis in his tone of voice became apparent, and after a while I caught on. All I did in response was plant my lips back onto his, nodding rapidly and laughing once more. I giggled through the kiss and when we separated again, I finally had my 'yes moment.'

"It's perfect, Shayne."

My fiancé smirked once more, "A perfect venue for a perfect bride."

"With a far from perfect groom," I joked, winking.

Shayne laughed loudly again, before pretending to be hurt and playfully throwing me into the water. He then swam back to shore, with Jango and I following close behind. As we reached the sand our soggy clothes became more and more translucent, almost to the point where my underwear was visible. Shayne noticed this and so we headed home as fast as possible, with his T-Shirt and shorts completely soaked too.

The venue was set. It was going to be a day for us.
