*Ian*

Things were very bleak around the office. Six weeks had passed since Defy's little 'announcement,' meaning Smosh had two weeks to find a new home. All of the offers thus far had been dreadful, extending stupid rules and guidelines, some of which weren't even legal, including one company suggesting we should become 'more adult' with our humour, whatever the hell that meant.

Everyone tried their best to stay positive, but the fatigue and the anxiety was definitely starting to show. Surprisingly, Shayne seemed to be struggling the most, which was strange to me as he gave that wonderful speech just a number of weeks ago. Him and Courtney seemed to have been hit the hardest by the news, and who could blame them? Smosh reunited them after years of heartache and separation.

Out of the blue one day, I got a call from Rhett, of Rhett and Link of course. The conversation that followed came as a bit of a surprise:

"Hey Ian. How's it going?" Rhett asked.

"Meh. It's tough, but we're getting there... I think," I laughed slightly.

Rhett sighed understandingly, "Could Link and I meet up with you today? Around one?"

"Oh sure, why?" I inquired, sensing Rhett smiling on the other end of the phone.

"Well, we were thinking that our company, Rhett and Link..."

I sat bolt-upright in my seat, praying that his sentence would end the way I wanted.

"Yeah?" I egged him on.

Rhett cleared his throat, "...could buy Smosh?"

Immediately, I burst into a fit of joyous laughter, "Yes! Yes! And yes! I'll meet you in a half hour at your office to discuss everything, alright?"

Rhett laughed, "Sounds great Ian, see you then."

He hung up and I literally jumped around with joy. Within an instant, I gathered everyone in the hall, and stood on a raised platform in order to address everyone. Dozens of faces peered up at me contemplatively, and I couldn't suppress my smiles.

"Rhett and Link is gonna be the new parent company of Smosh!" I screamed.

The mood in the room changed from confused and hopeful to joyous and carefree within a split-second. People threw paperwork in the air and hugged their colleagues, and in the very back stood the Smosh Squad. Olivia, Keith, Noah, Jessica and Damien all enveloped each other in a massive group hug, jumping around in circles, and just a few feet away was Shayne holding Courtney up off of the ground, with her legs wrapped around his waist, and they were kissing passionately. What made my day though was what followed. They pulled away from their kiss and began whispering to each other, and Shayne cried. Shayne actually cried, and Courtney hugged him so tightly. They were so in love.

After that happened, I realised how very proud I was. Individuals loved one another, but those same individuals all loved one thing in common, and that thing was Smosh...
