Cesar's POV:
"What, so I can't see my baby mama on Christmas?" Latrelle asks with an ass hole smile spread across his face. "Who?" Ruby asks. "Let me in and I'll tell you." He smirks. "It's Olivia." Monse says and I'm pretty sure she's thinking out loud. "Is it true?" Ruby asks. He sounds like he's about to break down. "I was going to tell you I swear." Olivia says. "Let him in." Ruby says but no one moves a muscle. "I said let him in!" He screams and we move out of the way. "What the fuck is he doing here?" Oscar shouts when he sees Latrelle. "Tell them or I will!" Ruby doesn't sound sad he sounds pissed. "A few weeks after I got here and I wasn't getting along with a lot of people, I met Latrelle and it just happened." She cries. "What just happened?" Geny asks. "I got pregnant." Olivia admits. I look over at Monse and she just has a blank expression on her face. "Why didn't you tell us?" Abuelita asks. "I thought you'd send me away to Mexico." She says. "Why didn't you tell me?" Ruby screams at her. "I like you and I haven't made a decision yet!" She yells. "How many months?" Monse asks. "I'm four months." "I don't care about that, I'm asking how many months did you know and didn't tell us shit!" Monse screams. "I found out a few days after my quince. I told him the day before he left the hospital." Olivia explains. It's silent for a minute and then everyone starts screaming at each other. "Shut up!" Latrelle yells and me and Oscar both get ready to beat his ass. "She told me y'all knew. I only came to give her this. Merry Christmas." He throws a present at her. "I don't want anything from you." She says. "It ain't for you, it's for my kid." He persists. "I don't know if I even want the baby. That's why I didn't tell anyone!" Olivia says. "Open it, that kid's gonna need all the help it can get." Ruby says spitefully. "She's going through a lot Ruby chill." I'm pissed too but her life is falling apart. "I don't need to calm down, she deserves all the hate I'm giving her!" He screams. "Ruby's right." Oscar says. Monse and Jamal both share a look but don't say anything. "Prenatal vitamins, and blankets." Olivia says. She's smiling but she doesn't look happy. "My grandma said pregnant people need all types of vitamins and shit." He says. "You actually care about that kid?" I ask. "Yeah, I don't give two fucks about anyone in this house but that's my kid." He says. "If you didn't give two fucks about us then why'd you try to get us killed?" Monse asks. "I already told Cesar I didn't do shit!" He protests.Olivia's POV:
Everyone hates me... Ruby hates me. "Olivia, mija, you have to make a decision soon." Geny says. "I know, and I will but for now can we just stop talking about it!" I cry. I go into my room and sit on my bed. Ruby walks in and I feel so much worse. "You could've told me." He says. "I think I love you." I say. "Ok, but right now we gotta talk about the baby." He hates me. "I was going to tell you guys after New Years." I say. "I'm your boyfriend, I should've been the first person you told after Latrelle." He says as he rubs my back. "You still wanna be with me?" I ask. "If I'm being honest, I don't know." He admits. "I'm sorry I ruined Christmas." I apologize. "Yeah, this probably wasn't the best time for everyone to find out you're pregnant with the guy your ex boyfriend shot's baby." He says. "How are you so calm?" I ask. "Being mad at you isn't gonna change the fact that it's his baby." Latrelle opens the door and Ruby stands up. "You two should talk." He says. Once he walks out of my room Latrelle starts talking. "I'm here for that kid." He sounds serious. "What if I don't want you to be?" I ask. "I don't care, that's my kid too." I wish it wasn't but I can't say that out loud. "If you're serious about being in it's life then I'll think about it but you have to keep all of us out of whatever prophet shit you're going through. Oh yeah and stay the fuck away from Cesar." I say. "Deal." I have a bad feeling about this. "You mess up once and that's it. Go apologize to them I'll be out in a minute." I tell him.Latrelle's POV:
"I'm really sorry about this, about everything. Ma'am if there's anything I can do to make up for all this please let me know." I tell Ruby's mom. "I remember the first time I met you. Cesar was staying with us and he invited you over to eat diner because your mom didn't buy any food for a month. You were a good kid. Don't be like you mother." She demands. "I got a job as soon as I got out of the hospital Ima be here for the baby." I promise. I look over and I see Monse crying and Cesar hugging her. "I should go." I start to walk away but Monse stands in front of me. "You have a chance to make up for everything you did don't mess it up." "Your boyfriend shot me." I shouldn't have said that. "Yeah, and you've been putting us through hell since I got here. We're even." She says. "I'll tell Monty you said hi." I say. "Where are you going tonight?" Jamal asks. "My grandma doesn't want me home over the holidays... too many problems." I admit. He passes me a paper plate. "If I've learned anything the last few months it's no matter what someone does, they always deserve a roof over their head and some hot food. Right dad?" Jamal says. "Let me grab you a seat." His dad says. How are they being so good to me?
