Monse's POV:
"How can we be mad about something so small when this is happening right in front of us." I tell Cesar with tears in my eyes. "She's so tiny." He says. "They're not ready for this." I say bluntly. "They'll figure it out... we always do." He smiles.*a few hours earlier*
"You didn't have to be here." I tell Cesar when I see him yawn. "I just finished working and I ran here, sorry if I'm not full of energy right now." He hisses. "Why are you mad at me? You're the one who cheated on me." I point out. "Yeah and you're the one who doesn't even want to talk about it!" He says. "Can you two just shut up!" Ruby yells. "The girl I love is in surgery about to give birth to the baby of the guy I hate most in the world! You two need to get your shit together because right now you don't have problems I do!" He says. "Sorry." I mumble. "Deal with that somewhere else nothing but positive energy in here." He draws a circle in the air with his arms and I can tell he's going crazy. "Do you think it's gonna be a girl or a boy?" Mariana asks in an attempt to change the subject. "Boy, Olivia wants a boy." Ruby says. "I don't think that's how it works." I say and they all look at me like I'm an idiot. "I mean, Olivia's gonna be happy no matter what... as long as the baby's ok." I say. "They baby will be fine." Cesar says. "Shut up." I tell him. "I'm being positive!" He says. "Both of you, go anywhere else." Mariana says nicely... at least as nicely as telling someone to go away can be. "Can we please just talk about this." Cesar asks as he follows me through the halls. "Why? What could you possibly say to make this any better? You had sex with someone else! Who knows, we could be right back here waiting for your baby in a couple of months." I tell him without turning around. I start to walk fast but he stays right behind me. "She's not pregnant." He says. "Oh yeah, how the fuck would you know?" I ask. "Condoms don't always work you know." I look him dead in the eye when I say that. "Are you pregnant?" He sounds serious. "No you ass hole, I'm not pregnant!" I hiss. "I was just making sure." He says and I keep walking. "Let me explain!" He grabs my arms and pulls me aside. "Ok, you have thirty seconds." I set a timer on my phone and don't waste time waiting for him to start talking. "I never thought I'd see you again!" He says. "Excuse number one." I mumble under my breath. "I never stopped loving you so if breaking up is what's gonna make you happy then tell me now." He says. "I don't want to break up with you I want you to want to fight for me or be with me or literally anything!" I didn't even know I wanted that. You find out a lot about yourself when you have no filter. "What do you think I'm trying to do? When I lied and said I wasn't in a gang that was for you when I tried to hide the fact that Oscar wanted me to kill Latrelle I hid it from you because all I want is to be with you! I changed who I am because I didn't want you to die because I'm a dumb ass." He screams. "So you lied about the gang, you lied about what your brother wanted you to do, and apparently you lied about who you are." I say and I start to tear up. "Finally, I've been looking everywhere for you guys. The baby was born and they're both fine. Her and Olivia there is only one baby." Mariana says quickly and happily. "Wait, it's a girl?" I ask. "It's a girl." She smiles and I hug her. "I think I'm gonna go I'll see you later." Cesar says. "No stay, they said we can see the baby soon, only through the glass but we'll be able to see her." Mariana says. "How long ago was she born?" I ask. "Umm like two hours? They only told us like thirty minutes ago." Mariana says as we walk down the hall. We get in the elevator with everyone else and we just look at Olivia's baby. "Olivia would kill us if we didn't take lots of pictures." Ruby says when he pulls out his phone. "I'm going in." Latrelle says and he looks terrified. "Good luck... and congratulations, that's your baby girl." I smile. He goes in and I just can't take my eyes off of her. Soon everyone either goes home or goes to Olivia's room but Cesar and I just stand there and stare at her. "How can we be mad about something so small when this is happening right in front of us." I tell Cesar with tears in my eyes. "She's so tiny." He says. "They're not ready for this." I say bluntly. "They'll figure it out... we always do." He smiles. "Let's go back to house." I tell him. "You sure?" He asks. "Let's just go before I change my mind." Instead of catching a ride like everyone else we walk back and talk through it. "I felt like a dick because I kissed someone you should've told me." I tell him. "Let's start over, complete honesty." He says. "Yeah, you think you can do that without exploding?" I ask. "Hey if I'm doing something to protect you trust me I can do it." He laughs. "Ok then, after today no more lies." I stick out my hand. "Before I can shake your hand I should probably tell you some stuff." He says when we get in my house. "I talked to my brother about getting back in... there's a lot of stuff I have to do and the less you know the better." He says. "Is that really what you want?" I ask. "It's who I am." He shrugs. "It's not who you have to be." He leans in to kiss me and I back up quickly. "What are you doing?" I ask. "Kissing my girlfriend." He laughs. "I didn't say we were back together." I tell him and he looks at me like I'm crazy. "You cheated on me how easy did you think this was gonna be?" I ask. "I thought you forgave me." He says. "I forgave Ruby for accidentally punching me when he got drunk, I forgave Jamal for eating the last donut when we were watching a movie and I forgave Olivia for being annoying from the moment I met her but that doesn't mean I want to date any of them." I laugh.
