Monse's POV:
"Nah I could beat you any day." Cesar tells Latrelle. "Who knew, we just had to put a couple beers in them and they're already talking about playing football together in elementary school." I tell Olivia. "Let's go right now someone around here has to have a football." Latrelle says. "No no no, you're both drunk." I push them both down by their shoulders. Oscar, Eric and Dwayne have been talking non stop since the beginning of the night, Olivia and Ruby are figuring things out and Latrelle and Cesar are drunk but happy. "I'm gonna go see if Abuelita and Geny need help wrapping any presents. Don't do anything stupid." I kiss Cesar on the cheek and go to Geny's room. "Hey, do you guys need any help?" I ask. "No! We have presents for you in here too don't look." Geny laughs. "Go be a kid." She says. They didn't need to buy me anything. "Geny told you she bought you a Christmas present?" Cesar asks when I go back to the porch. "Yup... wait you knew?" I ask. "Yeah, I just knew if you found out you'd convince her to return it." He slurs. "Why do you hate free stuff?" Latrelle asks. "I don't hate it, I just don't think I need any presents." I tell them. "But I'm such a gift." Cesar says. "I know you are." There's no point in getting annoyed with he's drunk. "I need to give you your present!" He screams out of no where. "I wanna see!" Latrelle says. "Wanna see what?" Jamal comes out of nowhere. "Oh my God! Where the hell did you come from?" I ask. "Last minute Christmas shopping." He shrugs. "It's almost one in the morning." I point out. "Here you go my beautiful queen." Cesar says as he squishes my face. "Is my present you squishing my face?" I ask. "No." I wait like a solid minute and he just stares at me. "Oh right, it's in my pocket." He pulls out a key. "Close your eyes." He says. "Baby, I can see it." I point out. "Ok. Merry Christmas." "What is this a key for?" I ask. "My door." He laughs. "It's a key to the house he's been talking about it for like a week!" Oscar yells. "Seriously?" I ask Cesar. "Ooooo Cesar's in love!" Latrelle laughs. "Shut up, you're the one having a baby!" Cesar says. "Are you sure? My dad's probably gonna apologize one of these days, I doubt I need a key." I say. "It is not about the key Monse! It is about what it symbolizes." Jamal says. "Well drunk Cesar isn't really explaining what it symbolizes." I say. "I want you in my house, especially in my bed, even if your dad's an ass." Cesar says. "He wants you to be his family, even if you don't have one." Jamal interprets. "You can walk in an out with a key." Cesar continues to ramble. "It's your house too." When did Jamal because a Cesar to English dictionary? "I love you." Cesar says and I kiss him. "He loves you." Jamal says and I glare at him and then go back to kissing Cesar.Ruby's POV:
I feel like I'm drowning and I know Olivia must feel ten times worse than I do. "I don't want a baby with Latrelle." Olivia says. "You don't have to do anything you don't wanna do." I tell her. "I'm so sorry." Olivia cries. "No princesa, we weren't together. I'm not jumping for joy but I'm not mad... ok I'm a little mad." I've never been so mad at anyone in my life but I'm not telling her that. "You should get some sleep, before you know it this kid's gonna be running around and you'll wish you fell asleep when you had the chance." I say and she just smiles. "You're going to be a great mom, if that's what you want, and I'll be a good... I don't know what I'm gonna be to the baby but I'll be the best damn whatever that I can be." I'm so in love with her. "Thank you Ruby." She says. I kiss her before I leave the room and go join the party. "How long have they been making out?" I ask when I get outside. "At least two minutes." Latrelle says. He's sitting on my chair, on my porch, in front of my house where my girlfriend is sleeping so that she's rested for his child's needs. "We're not friends." I say bluntly. "Ruby calm down, he's been good all night." Monse says. "One night, and you forgive everything he's done." I shake my head. "I shot him." Cesar says. "That's right, he did. Twice!" Latrelle busts out laughing. "That doesn't mean shit. You ruined Olivia's life." I say. "She's pregnant, not dying." Jamal says. "She might as well be. You guys know what happens to people from the Ridge when they get knocked up." They all avoid making eye contact and I know I probably took it too far. "Merry fucking Christmas." I mumble under my breath. "Let's just go back to having a good night." Monse says when I turn around. "How can you have a good night with him here?" I ask. "No disrespect but you're the only ruining our night." Latrelle says. "Sounds like all you've been doing is disrespecting me for the past four months." I point out. "I'm sorry man, but she wanted it too." Latrelle says. I try to throw a punch but he moves and I end up accidentally hitting Monse. "Is this what it looked like when he punched Santa?" Oscar laughs. "I am so sorry Monse!" I say. "It's fine." She smiles. "Maybe we should get you some ice." Jamal suggests and they walk inside. "You can't keep pulling shit like that, your girlfriend's gonna have a baby soon stop acting like one." Cesar follows them inside and now I'm alone on the porch with Latrelle. "Olivia's mine stay away from her." I say. "Yeah and she's my baby mama keep acting like that and I might have get her back." Is he serious? "You don't even like her." I say. "Stop it! You're both acting so stupid!" Olivia says. "I woke her up." Monse informs us. "Latrelle, Ruby is my boyfriend he's going to be in my life and if I decide to keep it our baby's life too. You don't have to be." I knew she'd stand up for me. "And Ruby, if you want to be in the baby's life you need to learn to deal with Latrelle. I know he's rude and annoying and he likes bothering people but it doesn't change the fact that we're having a baby!" She says. "Maybe I don't want to be in the kid's life, I don't want anything to do with something that's half of him." She knows I don't mean it, I'm just angry.
