Cesar's POV:
I'm mopping while Monse sits on top of the counter swinging her legs. I part her legs and stand between them. "You know I love you." I say as I kiss her cheek. "Yeah." She nods. "Seriously babe what did I do?" I ask. "Nothing, I just don't know how to deal with all of this." She sighs. "Which part?" I ask. "The whole part! You lied about who you were when we met, don't lie because Ruby told me the truth, and you're acting like a complete dumb ass." She explodes. "Why didn't you tell me before?" I ask. "Because every single time we get in a fight we break up and I don't want to break up! We suck at communication but we're teenagers so honestly who cares. We can talk about this later." She tries to get off the counter but I don't let her. "Give me a minute to finish closing up and then you can come over and we can talk all night." I smile against her neck. "I'm serious Cesar." She puts one hand on each of my shoulder and pushes me back. "I'm being serious. Tell me everything I did wrong as soon as we get out of here." I kiss her and I go into the back door to make sure everything's locked up. "Cesar!" I hear Monse yell. "What's wrong?" I rush over to her. She stares straight ahead and there's a green car stopped right in front of the restaurant. I pull down the metal shutters and lock them quickly. "My phones dead." She sighs. "Same." I run my hands over my face. "This is what I was talking about, we can't even stay somewhere after nine without someone rolling up on us." She walks away and sits at one of the tables. I never wanted to make her feel like this. She falls asleep an hour later and I get an idea.Monse's POV:
I feel someone rubbing my back and it wakes me up. "I forgot I was here." I sigh. "Come on, let's talk." Cesar says. I sit up and I see that he put up the yard lights all around the restaurant. "What the fuck this?" I yawn. "I'm the same guy you met last summer. I still want to act stupid with you and I want to be around you all the time... all of this is corny but I want to do this stuff for you." He kisses me. "Yeah? Prove it." I hiss. I crawl under the table and try to get away from him. "You know I thought you were gonna back out and tell Sadeyes to take over." I turn back around and glare at him. "Sit down." He says. "Why? All you're gonna do is try and convince me that you're a good guy and you just want everything to be ok." I shake my head. "Ok so let me tell you everything I did wrong." He says and I furrow my brow. "Seriously sit down and let's talk." He smiles. "A few days after everything happened a prophet broke into my house and I beat the shit out of him and that's how everything started." He says with his jaw clenched.*thirty minutes later*
"I feel like I don't know you." Why did he think this would be a good idea? "But you do know me, you know everything there is to know so what's the problem?" He asks. "I didn't want to tell you until I was sure but I think you made the decision for me... I'm going to Florida for the summer to spend some time with my cousins on my dad's side." I tell him. "Don't do this Monse." He says. "I'd stay for this guy but not for the guy you are when we're not alone." I say sadly. "Are you breaking up with me?" He asks. "You don't care about me unless we're alone! You don't love me if we're in front of the Santos! I'm not breaking up with you I'm giving you time to figure out what your priorities are." I sigh. I walk outside without even checking if there's anyone there. I feel Cesar pull me towards him and he starts to kiss me. "Figure it out." I tell him before I walk away.*the next day*
I wake up to someone knocking on my window. "Ruby?" I raise a brow when I see his face. "Come on Cesar told us it's important." He says. "I thought you were mad at him." I remind Ruby as I throw on a sweatshirt and climb out my window. We cross the street and of course it's just another Santos party. "This is it?" I ask Cesar when I see him. "No, I love you and after keeping most of these guys up all night talking they told me I should stop being a little bitch and knock you up but instead I just thought you should be around here more." He kisses me. "Wow, what an emergency!" I roll my eyes before I turn around. "Be patient and let me finish." He smiles. "Ok, hurry up I gotta go pack." I turn back to him. "Doesn't sound to patient to me." He says with a smirk. He hands me a beer and I know if I take it I might as well just stick around until the end of the party. "Fine." I snatch from his hand. He spends most of the time trying to get me to talk to his friends and drinking. He isn't forming a great argument for why I shouldn't go to Florida. "Cesar, I seriously gotta go." I tell him and he gets a creepy smile on his face. "Yeah just give me two seconds, ok?" He kisses me before I can respond. He comes back out with a box that looks like the one my cross was in. "Open it." He says. "I already have your cross." I remind him as I hand him back the box. "You don't get it, this isn't my cross." He pushes it back into my hands. "What?" I furrow my brow. "I think you should become a Santo." He says seriously. He doesn't sound drunk or high it's like this moment sobered him up completely.
