adore sobbed as she tried to process the situation that was happening. she didnt know what to do, so she went to the person she loved and trusted the most: bianca. she called her from her old room in azuza as she was visiting home because her family dog was undergoing surgery. it may have seemed small, but the dog was her best friend for fourteen years. when the news came back that he'd died, adore was heartbroken.
"adore? hey! how did buddys surgery go?" biancas cheery voice came from the phone, and it made adore sob even more.
"adore? baby whats wrong?"
"h-he did-didnt make i-it bianca..." adore stammered. she could hear the jingle of keys and a car door slam.
"ill be there in an hour, tops. hang in there." the phone called ended, leaving adore clutching a photo of her, bianca and buddy close to her chest.
45 minutes later, bianca arrived, a bag on her back and her arms open wide for adore to cling onto. she cried into her chest whilst bianca rubbed soothing circles on her back, murmuring hushed words into adores ear.
"hes in a better place now, yeah? hes in no pain and its better for him, trust me."
adore shot out of biancas arms eyes wide.
"sammy and dede, they're okay right?" adore choked out, staring up at bianca with wide eyes.
"yes, yes of course they are, dont stress. we can go home if you want? it might be better to be with them."
adore nodded and said goodbye to her parents, and bianca drove them home in silence, holding adores hand and rubbing circles on the back of it. when they got home, sammy and dede rushed to them and adore collapsed in a heap on the floor, cuddling the two puppies.
"see adore? even though you've lost buddy, these two are sticking around for a lot longer dont you worry about it. now, i know exactly what to do to help you cheer up and take your mind off it: 80's horror movies and pizza?"
adore let out a laugh, the first of the night and nodded, settling on the sofa. even when it feels like everything was falling apart, adore knew that bianca was always going to be there to help her through it.
