✰ 33. the four seasons ✰

1. autumn

bianca and adore both loved autumn. it's never too cold and never too hot, perfect for doing shows. the leaves are always placed perfectly on the ground, making for good instagram photos and the autumnal food and smells send adore into a frenzy. every year without fail, adore goes crazy when it comes to autumn candles.

and when they're out of drag it's even better. opportunities to go on long walks with the leaves crunching under their feet and sitting in coffee shops, watching the world pass with a contented silence. it gets dark at a perfect time, not too late and not too early, so if they're tired from a show it's always dark enough for them to drop off naturally.

and of course, there's halloween.

halloween is one of danny's favourite holidays. whether it's jumping out from behind doors and scaring roy half to death or just watching classic horror films, something about halloween just made danny feel like a child again. he even managed to drag roy along to a haunted house tour, and even though he shit himself at every little noise (although he denies it) roy actually enjoyed it slightly.

or maybe he just enjoyed clinging to danny.

2. winter

for adore and bianca, winter was month they both dreaded. going out to sold out shows when it was pouring it down with rain, snow, hail and any other weather imaginable was a pain. they were constantly tired, going to sleep in the dark and waking up in the dark, and winter made bianca feel miserable.

that is until they take three weeks off before christmas.

they stay as roy and danny, not even thinking about work. danny loved winter when he wasn't in drag. he was always looking for christmassy things to do, like ice skating, christmas shopping, christmas decorating and movies. when he and roy went ice skating, he was pleasantly surprised by how good he was compared to him. danny kept falling over, and in the end roy practically had to drag him around the ice rink.

danny's favourite christmas movie is the grinch. they'd watched it so many times, roy thought he could probably recite it off by heart. but he didn't mind: whatever made danny happy made him happy.

3. spring

spring meant new beginnings to adore and bianca. they would get their schedule sorted for the year and plan for summer. it was always nice weather in spring, which made it a lot easier to work in. everyone just seemed happier in spring, the inevitable summer creeping up on them.

roy didn't like or dislike spring. it wasn't his favourite season but he didn't hate it. danny, on the other hand, had different views.

his hay fever would be back with a vengeance, leaving him a sneezing mess. the nights started to get shorter, meaning less time to sleep without the sun blasting in your face. and worst of all?

the bees start to make an appearance.

danny hates bees with a passion. the way their fat little bodies buzzed around angrily and stung anyone that crossed their path. roy always said that danny was over dramatic when
it came to bees, but when he came running, latching onto roys arm at the sight of a bee, he didn't complain.

4. summer

biancas favourite season was summer. even though it was boiling hot, it gave them all the more reason to have days off when it was too warm to perform.

when they were out of drag it was even better. long days at the pool or the beach, eating ice creams and drinking icy cold cocktails. although danny got burnt every year without fail, he still enjoyed it and it gave an excuse for danny to rub his back.

longer days meant more time to enjoy themselves. they would go out early in the morning and wouldn't be back home until ten at night, warm and exhausted.

summer meant sunsets, and in summer, roy and danny's instagram is filled with candid sunset photos and golden hour selfies. it was without a doubt roys favourite season, and danny loved to see him that way. it made a change from the stone faced, sarcastic exterior he put on when performing.

so i guess that made it danny's favourite season too.
