Remember when I said that everything was going to be fine today? That Christmas wasn't going to be so bad? Well, can you please hit me next time I am being delusional? Thanks in advance. I stare at my mother's face as I just can't believe what she just said.
"You are fucking kidding me right?." I say loudly. I feel the burning glare of my grandmother at the side of my face because of my choice of words. But right now, I could care less what that old fart thinks.
"Rose Sophie Williams."- she gasp loudly and quickly look at my grandparents before she looks back at me. "First of all, language and second, I don't understand why you are reacting this way. For years it goes like this and before you never seemed to have a problem with it. New York has changed you."
The day started like any other day at my house. Peaceful. After a good 12 hour during sleep, I woke up with the sunshine shining on my face. We maybe don't have a white Christmas, at least it's not raining. Positive thinking.
After spending a good amount of time in the shower, giving myself the whole beauty treatment, I stood in front of my clothes, looking at the clothes that I have left behind when I went to New York. I have left them behind for a reason. They are extremely sophisticated and lady like. Just like my mother wants us to look, like little ladies. Not exactly the look I go for, to be honest.
I had 2 hours before my grandparents were going to arrive. Ever since I was a little girl, I remember that they always arrived at prompt 4 o'clock at Christmas eve. We are probably the only family who celebrates Christmas on the eve before but yeah, that's the way it goes in our family. It is always the same. We eat at 5.30 and then we go to the Christmas service at the church nearby. I fucking hate it.
"What are you going to wear?." I heard Lilly her voice and turn around. I bursted into a loud laughter when I saw what she was wearing. "Stop laughing. Grandma bought it for me and mom is forcing me to wear it."
"Damn, I am glad that I wasn't home to go shopping with grandma." Lilly looked ridiculous. In her little suit. With a skirt length, I only see woman wearing who are Jehovah witnesses. She looks like a 16 year old who tries to look grown up. It's fucking hilarious.
My grandma takes Lilly and I shopping once a year, right before Christmas. She just want to make sure that we aren't a embarrassment for the family."Oo dearest sister, we could never forget you. I picked something out for you."- Lilly said with the creepiest smile on her face. She pulls the clothing bag from behind her body and unzip the bag. "Jesus Christ... what the fuck is that." It looked even worse than what Lilly was wearing.
"Not let mother hear you swearing on this holy day."- she handed me the bag. "Put it on. Our lovely grandparents will arrive shortly and you even don't have makeup on your face." She enjoyed this situation way too much. She closed the door and left me standing there in the middle of my room with that ugly set of clothing.
I dropped the bag on my bed and walked over to my dressing table to do my makeup. It would be a shame if makeup would dripped on it and I couldn't wear it any longer.
I was half way through applying my second wing when my phone ringed.
Incoming FaceTime from Shawn Mendes...
I accepted the call and put my phone against the wall, so that I could go further with my makeup.
R: "You are up early." It was 2:15 P.M. that meant that it was around 9:15 A.M in Canada, since it's six hours behind on the Netherlands.
S: "Hi babe."- he was still laying in his bed as he was rubbed his eyes to wake up. "Yes, my mother is dragging me along to go do grocery shopping."
