"Okay, are you ready?." Karen, Shawn's mother gives me one of her typical smiles as she put on her coat.
"Yes, I cannot wait." I say enthusiastically. We are in London. The European part of the tour is almost at its end but we cannot do it without once surprising someone with some tickets. As you can imagine, after the whole dramatic episode I had back in Dublin, I wasn't really up for going outside and surprising fans but that was then. It's a couple of days later and it feels like I am somewhat myself again. I must admit that I really was on the verge of losing it. Not only because of the whole Shawn drama but also because of the lack of sleep, the long days and the fact that I still have to write my entire essay before the end of this school year, which is in less than 3 months. My brain was just overloaded and it just crashed. After pouring my heart out to Karen about everything, excluding Shawn's 'mysterious phonecall' things got a bit better. She made me write down a to-do list, which really helped. You probably wondering why I didn't told her about what was going on with Shawn. Well, it's her son, you know. Even though he might be in the wrong, she will always be on his side. That's just one of a mom's obligations. I did told her that we had hit a rough patch but other than that, I kept my mouth shut.
Shawn and I didn't really had the chance to talk. When he got off stage, after his performance in Dublin, I wasn't really in the mood to talk to him and kind of blown him off. He didn't took it that well and went out with Brian and the rest to get drunk in some bar. That night, he didn't came back to our hotel room. I was laying in bed, freaking out that he might had spend the night with some girl or something but then I got a message from Brian, saying that Shawn was completely hammered laying in his hotel room, I could finally breath again.
The day after was traveling day. Shawn was extremely grumpy because of his hangover, which was extremely fun. (<— notice my sarcasme, please). We were flying commercial and our seats were booked before hand, so Shawn and I were seated next to each other. We didn't really spoke to each other during the 1,5 hour flight. That was because once the plane took off, I was out like a light. The whole night worrying about Shawn's whereabouts had wore me out. But when I woke up, Shawn was wrapped around my body like a koala. I wasn't surprised because that is what usually what happens when we have a fight. His body, even unconsciously, tries to cling to mine. But as soon as we both were fully awake again, we were back to ignoring each other.
Once we finally arrived in London, Shawn went out for dinner with his friends, for a so called 'boys night' and I spend the night with Tiffany and Anna in bed. Drinking wine and watching the Notebook. Well, that was the idea because within the first 5 minutes of the movie, I was fast a sleep again. I woke up in the middle of the night, around 4.15 or something, next to a sleeping Tiffany. I just decided to stay there. I only would have woken people up if I had decided to go back to Shawn's and mine room.
And that is how we ended up here. It's the first night out of the three shows we are playing in the O2 arena here in London. Shawn and I really have to talk about this but that is something for later. First thing on the agenda is making people happy. My own happiness can wait for a couple more hours.
"Do you have a hat or something?." Karen asks. I furrows my eyebrows in confusion. Why do I need a hat? "People will recognize you immediately and then the whole surprise will be ruined." She has a point. We have gotten to a point where people also want to take a picture with me. If I go out there, without any disguise, I will be only taking selfies with everyone, instead of surprising people.
"No, this is the only jacket I brought with me." I do have some jackets with hoods back in the hotel but that's to no use to us now.
"Mmhmm." She mumbles and walks back into the dressing room. Shawn lifts his head up from his phone as his mother burst into the room, followed by me.
