It has been a couple of days since I am back from Cannes. I don't remember much from the time we spend there to be honest. That's probably because we were there for less than 24 hours. And the time we did spend in France, I was running from one thing to another. We went from the airport straight to the venue and before I knew it, I was on the flight back to NYC.
Like Shawn already said, he went from Cannes to Los Angeles instead of flying back with us to New York. Unfortunately for me, there was no need for me to go along with him. Shawn tried to convince Andrew otherwise but it was a lost cause. So, I am stuck here in rainy New York City with countless emails to reply to, while Shawn and Brian are surrounded by the west coast heat. Life is unfair sometimes.
"What are you going to do for Christmas?." Andrew says out of nowhere. We are sitting in his office at the building of Island Records. He is sitting behind his desk while I am lounging on the couch with my feet popped up on the table.
"Going home to my parents. You?."
"Yes, me too. Looking forward to spend some time with them. Christmas is always so much fun."
"Yea, me too." The words fun and my family gatherings do not belong together. Words like hell and obligations fit my family better, to be honest. "Where is Ziggy by the way?." I haven't seen that kid lately.
"He is with Shawn and Brian in LA. He has a good ear for potential hits."
"Lucky bastard." I mumble underneath my breath as I stare at the rain that is slowly dripping down the large window. I never been a fan of the cold weather. My ultimate goal is to move to a country where it never rains or where it doesn't get colder than 25 degrees. That's also a reason why I don't like the Netherlands that much.
It pretty much always rains. Even in the summer. That is just sad."You know what."- Andrew says, pulling me out of my thoughts "it's Friday. Why don't we start the weekend little bit earlier than normal?"
"Really? But we have still so much to do." Believe me, I want to get out of here but, I don't want to do everything last minute. There is still so much to finalize for Shawn his world tour and we are getting closer to the starting date of the concerts.
"Yes, I think we both need some relaxing time. We worked really hard the last couple of days."
"Well, you are the boss." I shrugs my shoulders in response.
"I am. So, get gone. Have some fun and get some sleep. I will see you Monday morning. I will text you the location for where the meeting is for merchandise for the tour."
"Alright boss." I stuff my MacBook into my back and the rest of my stuff "you are not coming?."
"I will finish this email and then I going home as well."
I raise my eyebrow at him "you are not going to stay here by yourself all night, right?." If that is the case, I will stay as well. We are a team. We either both go home or we both stay. That is how it works.
"No no, I am going home as well. I promise."
"I will FaceTime you in a hour, to check." I point my finger at him. I am on to you, dude.
"Sometimes I wonder who the boss is here."
"We both know the answer to that."- I give him a cheeky smile as I open the glass door. "I will see you later, boss man."
"Bye Rose. See you Monday. Enjoy your weekend."
"O believe me, I will. You too." I wink at him and walk through the door into the long hallway.
