"You and your mom seem to get on well." Anna, my best friend Anna says as she closes my old bedroom door behind her. Of course, as soon as I texted her that I was in Amsterdam, she immediately came over. Nothing felt as good as having her in my arms again. Sure, Ali and Liz are really good friends of mine and I love them to death but they are not Anna. Anna is my best friend and she will always be.

"Yeah. We had a surprisedly good talk today. She almost acted like a mom." As soon as Anna made her entrance, my mom took the opportunity to escape the house. But I have to give her some credit. She actually listened when I told her about Shawn and our rocky relationship. She didn't even judge or prejudice me and she even gave me advice what she would do if she was me. We are far away from a normal mother-daughter bond but for us, this is a major positive step.

"She tried. More than she has done in a long while." Anna says bluntly and falls down on my bed, like its her own. Nothing out of the ordinary. We have been friends for so long. If we wouldn't have felt at ease after all this time, then something would have been off about our friendship.

"That's true." I mutter softly in response as I scan through my phone, hoping to see a text from Shawn but there is non. I sigh softly and lock my phone.

"Okay, shoot." Anna says as she watching me from my bed.

"What do you mean?." I try to sound as clueless as possible, failing 100% of course. Another thing of knowing each other for such a long time. It's impossible to lie to the other person. They see right through you.

Anna only raises her eyebrow in response. "Are we really going to play this game?."

"Okay..."- I groan in annoyance. "Shawn and I had a fight and needed some time apart. That's why I came back earlier than I was supposed to."

"I still cannot believe that you are dating Shawn Mendes. It's literally a dream come true." Anna says dreamy.

"Anna, focus." Not the point right now. I wish that everything would have been normal and that I could fangirl over my man with my best friend right now but unfortunately, that is not the case. I have some serious thinking to do.

"Right. Sorry. Okay, tell me. Why were Mister dreamy and you fighting?."

"I don't know. We don't really understand each other's reasoning and that clashes sometimes." Well, a lot of times. More than not.

"That's understandable, considering that the two of you live a complete different type of life's."- like usual, Anna understands where I am coming from. I don't know if it's because we are best friends that we are so much alike Or because we have been brought up the same but we really have a similar view on life itself. "What was the fight this time about then?."

"Well, he wanted to bring me to the Brits."-

"And you said no?! Are you fucking insane." She interrupts me with a raised voice.

"Girl, don't scream so loud. I am right here."- If it's not Brian, than its Anna, who is going to make me deaf. "And yes, I refused to go to the Brits with him. I have literally no reason to be there. I am an nobody compared to those people there. I didn't do anything to deserve to be there."

"Um? Being Shawn Mendes girlfriend maybe? It's your duty to support your man."

"I do but I don't see a reason why I should do that in public. I am there when he gets off stage, after preforming for thousands of people and when nobody is there anymore. I will always support him but I didn't choose to be in the spotlights and he should accept my decision, just like I accept that he wants to be in the public eye."
