Dane: You need to be
back here Sunday morning.
You have an apt with a
blue collar up the
mountains.I read the text, trying hard to make it seem as though I'm paying attention to the lecture Mama Gold is still giving us all about taking care of ourselves instead.
Harper had to report back to her about the doctors visit today- so my supposed eating disorder has been the topic of discussion for a little while now. I shouldn't complain, because at least it's not about the pregnancy- it's just always been an uncomfortable topic for me to talk about.
Especially with the Golds, now.
"I'll talk to Andre about looking into the outpatient programs," she says as she manuvers a pan from the oven. "Do you have anything in Pennsylvania you still need to move out here, or?"
Of course she'd bring up officially moving out here right now. Why wouldn't she bring it up right after Dane sends me a summoning text? Isn't that just how my luck has been going lately?
"Yeah, I'm still moving stuff." I quickly say before she has time to fill the silence with more plans of relocation and outpatient. "The doctor actually sent the reccomendation in case- but I've been doing a lot better since I've been here, right Harp?"
Harper nods her head, though I can see the reluctance behind it as she puts together another anticipated visit back home for me.
"I think I'm going to head there Sunday, actually..." I still say despite Harper now eyeballing me from across the room. "My schedule is free and I still have a few things to do anyway."
Mama Gold nods her head. I can see on her face that she's not too fond of me returning to Pennsylvania either. I'm just not so worried about her because, unlike Harper over there practically scolding me with her eyes, Mama Gold doesn't know a thing about Dane, or what I really went through before coming out here. She doesn't even know I'm pregnant yet... let alone with 'Dane's' baby.
Harper, though a little distorted on the facts, has a reason to worry.
"Just-" Mama Gold says suddenly, only to cut herself off and let out an anxious sigh. "Just please don't do anything silly, Hayden."
"-Jenalyn. Just when she's home." Harper quickly corrects with a small laugh. I can't help but let out a small laugh, too.
Mama Gold eyeballs Harper for a moment before turning to me with a smile. "Hayden." she emphasizes while she repeats.
