Monday, 11:36 P.M.
Ty scrambles off of my bed, and into my huge walk-in closet effortlessly as soon as we hear three gentle taps on my door.
I know that the only person who would come to my room at this time of night is Harper, possibly accompanied by Harlee because they'd just gotten back from dinner with Skylar. I can't help my heart from jumping in my chest as I walk to the door though.
"Hey, baby mama!" Harper excitedly exclaims after I unlock and swing open my bedroom door. "Mom said you were sleeping, but- I had a feeling you just wanted her to leave you alone for a little bit." she giggles.
Unsurprisingly, Harlee didn't accompany her. I'm kind of thankful for it, honestly- as horrible as that sounds.
I let out a small laugh, keeping it from showing the nerves that were just threatening my body. Harper pushes right past where I stand in the doorway, and makes her way to my bed.
I know I should probably try to rush her out of my room for Ty's sake- but honestly, she would just find that odd, so I don't bother.
"How was dinner with Sky?" I ask her as I make my way to my bed, nonchalantly sitting on the edge beside her.
Harper perks up automatically, a wide smile spreading across her face as she responds. "It was actually really fun!" she answers quickly. "She was disappointed that you couldn't go! She really likes you. Said she wants to have some drinks with you once you pop that little peanut out!"
Skylar is cool. Sometimes I question how she and Harlee have been best friends for so long considering their opposite personalities though- Sky is actually quite the party animal, while Harlee might as well just be mini Mama G.
"Skylar just wants anybody to have some drinks with her." I joke in response, rolling my eyes playfully before nodding my head. "But yeah- you already know I'm down to party once I'm baby free! She knows that, too!"
Harper laughs, going on for a few moments about the highlights of their night before summing it up with an 'I wish you could've been there.'
"So how was your night, jailbird?" She asks after finishing her stories. "Did she make you scrub the floors? Toilets? Did you have to sit through a two-hour lecture?"
I let out a small laugh, rolling my eyes playfully at her overexcited questioning. "Only a twenty-minute lecture," I say between laughs as I readjust myself on my bed. "-No toilets, no floors."
Harper nods her head with an entertained smile, her eyes excited to see me though it's only been a few hours since she's seen me last.
"Well- I'm glad you had it easy," she says crossing a leg over her opposite knee and turning toward me. "Maybe she'll cut you down a day or two for good behavior! Want to see if we can go to the mountains before Harlee flies out again? We can have a day at the spa! I'm sure baby Bristol would love that"
Baby Bristol. Bristol Robson... Bristol Gold? No Bristol.
Why name my first daughter after a place where Jena has spread so much of her filth anyway? I don’t want a constant reminder of her!
"Baby girl until-further-notice would love that!" I tell her excitedly, laughing at my own way of kindly shooting down her name suggestion. "But Mama G seems pretty gung-ho on making me serve this sentence though, so."
Harper rolls her eyes without missing a beat. "Good behavior!" she says matter of factly, and with much diction. "You've just been chilling up here, I imagine- so it's not like you could've pissed her off anymore!"
It's funny that she thinks that I've been on good behavior just because I've been up here, and away from Mama G. Sneaking in, or out was basically a staple in Jena's life. As a matter of fact, that's usually when she misbehaves the most!
Shit, I have Tyler in my closet right now!
I bite my tongue though, offering just a shoulder shrug as a response instead.
Harper shrugs back. She wears an optimistic smile across her face while she does it, and then lets out a loud sigh after just a moment of silence.
At first, I think her silence is just representing a loss of anything exciting to say. Only after I raise my head to look at her do I see the actual reason for her brief silence.
Ty's shoes and bag both sit propped up against the nightstand beside my bed.
"What's that about?" Harper asks, her tone flat as she turns to me with an expression that says it all.
My first inclination is to lie. I'm grounded. I shouldn't be having people over- let alone a guy who 'already has me pregnant.'
I know I don't need to lie though. And even if I did, it'd be pointless because Harper knows me better than that.
"Ty is in the walk-in," I state matter of factly after a moment of contemplating my response. "I snuck him in a little while ago. He was hiding in case you were Mama G or Harlee because, ya know, I'm grounded."
Harper's jaw drops momentarily as her eyes dart to my closet door and back to me. "Oh!" she exclaims in a mix of both surprise and question. "I... I didn't even know that was possible! Is he... is he still in there?"
I nod my head, wondering just how well Tyler can hear from the closet. "Unless there's an emergency escape in there- which I'd be very upset that you haven't told me about yet, then he should still be in there." I joke confidently.
Harper's eyes dart back to the closet again just in time for the doors to roll open to reveal a very embarrassed Ty.
"I'm sorry Harp-" he says immediately with a shrug of his shoulders. "You know how hard it is to say no to her when she's got her mind set..."
Harper's jaw, still dropped from the surprise of seeing Tyler reveal himself, remains open for only a second before she lets out a small laugh.
"You guys are friggen crazy," she says glancing back and forth between the both of us. "You know mom would probably kill you, right? You too, Ty!"
He makes his way over to my bed, laughing with us before he lowers himself beside me.
"Not if she doesn't find out!" I giggle, shoving Harper gently in insinuation. "So I guess we better just keep it our little secret, huh?"
Harper rolls her eyes, flashing me a smile as she does. "Among the many," she says, intending it to be under her breath. "-but you know I got your back!"
