Tuesday, 9:03 P.M.

Once I'm in the air, I turn on my phone expecting to find a Nationwide Missing Person alert that Mama G would've sent out knowing I'm not in my room like I should be.

Why would she have checked on me since I've left though? That'd be way too out of character for her. She has way too much pride- and I fucked up in her eyes. There's no reason she'd even think about checking on me.

Harper must be home though, because I'm met by a series of messages from both her, and Ty instead.

I open Ty's first, knowing that Harper can't know the extent of my 'sneaking out' right now, solely because Mama G hasn't messaged or called me to bitch me out yet. If I tell her that I'm on my way to Pennsylvania to basically shun everything Hayden- I'm sure she'd tell her.

Tyler: I made it to
Sophie's. I'll just
be here until the
morning, and we can
try to meet up during
the day if you want?
Tyler: Baby please don't
be like that. It's for my
daughter... I really don't
want to be made out
to feel wrong for this...
Tyler: Hayden I'm serious.
Tyler: Sophie is already
asleep. Upstairs.
I'm literally laying on
a futon in the guest
room.
Tyler: OMG goodnight
Hayden. I hope you
really think about WHY
you're upset with me
right now.
Tyler: Why can't you just
trust me?

I bet Hayden would.

I bet she'd trust him, probably only to find out a year from now when he knocks her up again and has to explain himself, that he's been cheating on her with Sophie this whole time.

That's just how life works. It's the hand that we were dealt- he's always been too good to be true.

Just like Dane was...

The thought of him reminds me of what I'm actually doing. It reminds me that I'm going to try and get this baby thing over with, and that it very well may drive Dane over the edge to hear about it.

I quickly pull up my missed messages from Harper, desperate for a distraction when the reality of what I'm doing actually starts to sink in.

Harper: Hey, sorry I took a
while to get back. Harlee
took us back to AJ's to
go over a few things for
the tour. Where are you?
Harper: You're not here...?
Where did you go? You
know mom will kill you,
right? I don't mind letting
you sneak Tyler in but
Hayden, you literally can't
just be sneaking out...
Harper: Hayden for real,
where are you?
Harper: Okay so... I know
you don't usually go more
than 3 hours without your
phone... I'll give it until 11?
If you don't respond I'll
have to tell Mom you're
missing....
Harper: I don't want any
thing bad to happen to
you...

Sheesh- between both of them, I don't know where to set my mind right now!

I have no choice but to confront Harper now though- I can't have her telling Mama G anything because I'd like to actually get the hell away from Hayden's bullshit life, not get dragged right back into it.

Hayden: Hey I'm okay!
I'm okay!
Hayden: I just... I'm not
sure I want this anymore,
to be honest. I had to get
out and think.

Harper gets online immediately, but instead of her texting bubble bobbing up and down on the bottom left of my screen- a picture of us from one of the first times I came out to California fills my screen as she calls.

Ugh... I don't know if I want to do this over a call, to be honest.

"Hello?" I answer anyway, knowing that avoiding talking to her would only raise her suspicions more.
