Chapter 8: Caleb's Death

Spencer knew exactly where she was.

She stood in the parking lot with Emily, Hanna, and Aria-wearing a graduation gown- and their significant others.

She saw the car, and knew what would happen next. She had dreamt this moment many times after it happened. She knew who was behind the wheel.

-A. They would ruin Hanna's life for good.

She squinted at the figure illuminated by the car's headlights. He had short hair. What?

She looked to her side and saw Caleb. He wasn't in front of car like every time before. "No," she thought.

"Toby!" She screamed and tried to run towards him. But her feet were planted to the ground.

She couldn't look away as the car's impact forced Toby into air. Seconds later, his lifeless body crumpled to the pavement.

Spencer awoke is a cold sweat. She rolled to the left, needing Toby. Needing to know he was okay.

But he wasn't there.

"Toby!" Spencer shrieked into the dark, quiet house. Her body wracked in sobs as she croaked his name again.

He sprinted into the room and rushed to Spencer's side.

"Spencer, what's wrong? I was in my office," He explained.

"I had the dream again. But it wasn't Caleb. It was you." More tears rushed out of Spencer's eyes.

"I'm here. I'm okay. We're okay. I promise. I'll keep you safe," Toby said, wrapping his arms around Spencer's shaking torso.

Eventually they lied down, in each other's arms. And there they stayed.

{A/N: so there's the Caleb thing. It's so sad, but I wanted to add tragedy. Another will happen towards the middle of the book. I already have everything planned out!}
