For Toby, waiting was the hardest part. The uncertainty. The fearing the worst.

But after what seemed like forever, Spencer had stabilized. The blow to her stomach had knocked her out but hadn't actually killed her. The gunshot had ended Alison's life, but not Spencer's.

And for Spencer, just feeling her hand in Toby's was enough to erase some of the pain. She knew that later she would have to deal with her sisters death, along with the murders her and her friends had committed. But as long as Liam knew it was in self-defense, he said they wouldn't be charged.

Assuming there was nothing else wrong with her besides her stomach, she would be going home to Lake Geneva the next morning. After the wedding, honeymoon, and A ordeal, Spencer was glad her life would be returning to normal.

Her doctor came in a bit later. After going over her test results and x-rays, the doctor reassured Spencer that she was alright.

"However, there is another matter I need to address," Dr. Wilson said sternly.

"What is it?" Toby said worriedly.

"Mrs. Cavanaugh, the reason we were so worried about your stomach is because you were pregnant."

Spencer's first instinct was to throw herself into Toby's arms in happiness. But realization coursed through her.

"Wait, I was pregnant? As in, not anymore?" She stammered.

"That's what we're looking at. You're one month along, but the impact on your stomach may have damaged the fetus. We don't know if you still have the baby," she said grimly.

Spencer felt a mix of emotions. She was overwhelmed with happiness at the thought of carrying Toby's baby. Confused. How has she been pregnant since before the wedding and not noticed? She had just chalked her missed period up to stress. Sadness and anger that she had lost her baby to A.

"We're still running tests and we will perform an ultrasound. The good news is that even if you did lose your baby, you can still try again."

So when the doctor reemerged into Spencers room after collecting more results, Spencer was already in a negative mindset.

She gripped Toby's hand tightly when the doctor gave her final verdict.

"Congratulations you two. You're going to be parents."
