Chapter 14: Paige is gone

December 5 met Spencer with the first snowfall of the year. And a call from Emily.

"Spencer," Emily choked out, through tears.

"Oh my God, what is it Emily?" Spencer asked, frightened.

"Paige is gone."

"Gone? What the hell do you mean?"

"I woke up, and I can't find her anywhere."

Just then, Emily gasped and croaked, "No."

"Emily, what is happening?"

"'After hiding for so long, did you enjoy my grand re-entrance? Too bad Paige will never enter any room again! Kisses,'"

"A," Spencer completed the message.

"This can't be true, that can't be back. This is some sick joke," Emily said.

"You have to find Paige," Spencer stated.

"No shit, Spence," Emily laughed before hanging up.

A was back. The four girls were on their own. How the hell were they supposed to protect themselves? Surely they weren't in four places at once, though.

As if one cue, Spencer's phone chimed.

With a sick feeling in her stomach, she opened the message.

"Moving apart only works when there's one, but what will you do now that I've multiplied, by four? Good luck,"

And there was the single letter that had ruined Spencer's life.
