Chapter 45

Spencer woke up from a dream. She longed to hold onto it, to find out how it ended. Maybe it would hold some intuition to her future. It was her and Toby, lying on a beach. Her senses told her that there was a child as well, but it wasn't explicit enough to know for sure.

She heard clattering from the kitchen and looked through the cutout in the wall.

"Where does Spencer keep her coffee cups?" Emily growled.

"Found them!" Aria exclaimed.

Hanna sat at the island, hunched over a piece of paper she was scribbling on. They were all oblivious to the fact that their brunette friend was up, listening to their conversation.

"I knew they would last," Emily beamed.

"Me too. I'm so happy for them, with everything they've been through," Aria joined in. She had a point, Spencer and Toby deserved this. Throughout everything that had happened, they deserved something constant. Each other.

"Yeah," Hanna said melancholically. "Lucky them."

Spencer tightened at her statement. She hadn't realized how much this was still affecting Hanna. But she really couldn't blame her. If she had lost Toby, she didn't know if she would be able to go on. God, when she thought she'd lost him once, she'd gone to a mental hospital. Toby was the one thing keeping her on the earth, and she knew Caleb was the same thing to Hanna.

Deciding to diffuse the tension, Spencer arose from her place on the couch.

"Good morning," she cooed, prancing into the kitchen.

"Good morning, beautiful bride," Aria said as she embraced her friend.

Emily sauntered over from her spot at the stove, where a pot of oatmeal simmered, and handed Spencer a clipboard. Attached was a list.

•Hanna picks up wedding and reception dress from hotel and transports to venue
•Lunch with bridesmaids
•Arrive at venue

•Peter and Spencer walk down the aisle

•Married couple arrives at reception

•Speeches
•Cake
•Dancing
•Toby and Spencer take limo to hotel

Accompanying each event was a specific time, proving that Emily had everything planned out perfectly. Jeez, this was a bit overwhelming.

"And according to this, you should go get ready for breakfast!" Emily squealed.

Once in the privacy of her bedroom, she pulled on black tights and a green chiffon dress with a cream cardigan. After slipping on her boots, she reached into the nightstand drawer, retrieving the letter Toby had written her.

She sat down on the bed and began to read.
