The next morning, Spencer and Toby were awaken by the sound of a shower being turned on through the walls separating their room from Aria's and then the sound of running down the hall into the kitchen.
"Good morning," Toby groaned as he opened his eyes.
"Hey," Spencer whispered in reply.
She got up and crossed the room to retrieve her gray, down bathrobe. She tossed Toby a tee-shirt and they passed down the hall to breakfast.
"Good morning!" Ada Lynn squealed. Clearly, she didn't mind being up at this hour.
"Hey Ar," Spencer acknowledged her friends presence.
"Good morning everyone," she chirped, waving her hands in the air. Spencer envied the pregnant woman's energy, even at 8:00.
Aria made coffee and pancakes for all and the group sat down outside. Ezra walked out, clad in a pair of khaki shorts and a tee-shirt.
"Ready to hike?" He asked.
"Yes! Hiking!" The kids screamed and ran into their dad's arms.
"You didn't tell me there'd be a hiking trail!" Spencer punched Aria's arm.
"Because there isn't a trail," Ezra replied. "We're hiking up Mount Madonna!"
"It's so much fun! Me and mommy and Joshua go up to the ledge, but you and daddy and Toby can go up all the way!" Ada said happily.
"We'll leave in an hour, okay?" Aria asked.
"Sounds great!" Toby replied.
