Spencer arrived at the Abbey fifteen minutes early to make sure everything was in place for their rehearsal dinner. She was still shaken up by the A text, but vowed to let it go for the next week. Because apparently that was all she had before Ali attacked.
She flitted from room to room, making sure the dressing rooms and ceremony rooms were ready, and then moved onto the lobby. She felt guilty for doing it all herself, that's what she had bridesmaids for, but she was Spencer. And Spencer was the master of taking things into her own hands.
She was distracted from her duties by a loud pang of laughter from the back entrance. It could only be her fiancé and his posse.
"Hi," Spencer whispered before kissing him and giving him the run down. "My parents will be here soon and we'll figure out seating, then we can decorate, and then we will run through the entire ceremony, and then dinner and dancing."
"Calm down," Toby chastised. "It's going to be fine," he added before pulling her into a hug.
After her friends arrived, they went on a tour of the convention facility and made all the last minute arrangements. The priest arrived and it was then time to begin the run through of the ceremony.
Peter walked her down the aisle and handed her off to Toby. They joined hands as the priest explained everything.
"Each of you will say your vows and then I will do my part-"
"And then you kiss her!" Hanna yelled from the front row. Everyone stared at her and her face turned strawberry red.
But Spencer and Toby carried out her command, with a kiss that would be too PG-13 for the actual ceremony.
He walked, rather carried, her back down the aisle and they made their way into the dining room. They ate their dinner, sneaking in kisses whenever the opportunity presented itself. The DJ showed up after dinner. Even though they would not host the reception at the Abbey, sounds checks were still to be run, and they had to finalize their playlist.
In My Veins was the obvious choice for the first dance. It described them better than any other song. Though there were mistakes and goodbyes that tarnished their relationship, they were in each other's veins and the only ones made for the other. Spencer couldn't imagine loving anyone else, and Toby reciprocated the feeling.
They danced to cheesy wedding songs that were popular in the nineties, and then started saying their goodbyes. This would be the last goodbye Spencer and Toby would share until they were married. She had never been the superstitious type, but she still didn't want to be with Toby the eve of their wedding.
"I'm going to miss you," Toby whispered as he cupped her face in his right hand.
"I'm going to miss you too. But think, in less than 24 hours, we'll be married and probably making love at our hotel," Spencer admitted, blushing.
"I'm counting the seconds," Toby said before they shared their last kiss as an unmarried couple.
{so here's the run down:
