Spencer and Toby broke apart from their kiss the limo screeched to a stop.
They exited the vehicle, and unexpectedly, Toby took Spencer by the waist, hoisting her over his shoulder.
They entered the building and were greeted by a pang of cheers. When Toby set her down, Spencer took in the surroundings. Usually a dark, dingy bar and Italian restaurant, Pino's was a large space, and Spencer was confident Emily and the others could spruce it up.
She was right. The place had Christmas lights strung from the rafters, the tables were dressed with elegant, white tablecloths, and the fact that her closest friends and family were present made the place that much more beautiful.
After thanking Emily and her other friends profusely, Spencer took her seat at table 2, symbolizing the number of miles from their house to the lake. Spencer sat between Toby and Hanna, and Travis, Ezra, Aria, Paige, and Emile -beside Toby- sat around her. At the surrounding tables were her other best friends, but they would never replace her original friends.
About halfway through the dinner, Hanna tapped her on the shoulder. She pointed to the door, where a familiar man stood.
Spencer shot up from her seat.
"Jason!" She yelped, running over to her brother. He enveloped her in a hug that was 4 years overdue. Her brother had left for New York in Spencer's sophomore year of college and she hadn't seen him since. That meat he knew absolutely nothing about his sister. He completely detached himself from Rosewood and started his own life elsewhere. But Spencer still loved him.
"Congratulations, sis," he said.
"I can't believe you came!" Spencer breathed.
"Why would I miss this?" He asked.
"It's been so long. Too long," Spencer added before hugging him again.
"Hey, you better get back to your dinner before it gets cold," Jason said before turning towards the door.
"Jason, wait!" Spencer grabbed his arm. "Please stay!"
After hesitation, Jason agreed and sat down at an empty seat.
